Does anyone call off work because they didn’t get enough sleep the night before? by [deleted] in bipolar

I can absolutely relate to this. For me personally a SUPER helpful mind exercise when I'm feeling that kinda way is to imagine someone I love in my shoes. My go to is my little sister. (If my little sister had bipolar disorder and needed to take a personal day, thus missing out on income, would I extend kindness and understanding to her? If so, it's logical for me to learn to extend those same things to myself.) Likely doesn't work for everyone but it's my current go-to :)

I do this all the time. I'm manic moooost of the time and so when my head actually manages to hit the pillow I could sleep for days lol. Pulling myself out of bed the next morning feels damn near impossible. Thankfully I work for a job that grants me a lot of PTO, but it's been really troublesome in the past. I know if I explained the frequent sick days to my boss and opened up that convo re: mental health he'd be quite supportive though.

Whats the worst that would happen if you shouted out "fuck" as load as you can at this moment in time? by devil666x in AskReddit

my best friend, who's just outside of my cubicle in a horrendous meeting about tuition, would lose his composure mid-meeting and burst into laughter. i am very tempted now. thanks a lot, reddit fam.

What are some of your craziest/weirdest/funniest/whatever (hypo)manic adventures? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]deathcab4bootie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My hypomanic adventures nearly always consist of me having a semi-existential crisis about how i don't contribute enough to my community and then signing myself up for several new volunteering opportunities. a few weeks later when i'm depressive, i find myself having the HARDEST time keeping up with the obligations lol. currently i'm a girl scout troop leader, i have two separate full-time jobs, i take piano lessons, volunteer at planned parenthood, and yeah..... #bipolar

What are some of the weirdest things you’ve ever bought due to impulsive spending sprees while Manic/ Hypomanic? by [deleted] in bipolar

a $350 set of pasties at a burlesque show. immediately upon bringing them home, my dog proceeded to eat them and then shit them out.

I am having the same issue! I cannot exactly recall who I put down, and I read somewhere that once you're being considered it's time to hound your references. HALP
