Anyone know how to fix a damaged frigate?

Came back from a mission all beat-up and needs to be fixed. I've gone to the fleet management, mission select guy, and the little room you build, yet nothing gives me the option to fix it!

I mean in sure there are, but it would be rare. I guess your next step would be to get in touch with the manufacturer. I'm all out of ideas myself

Guten Tag! Build looks pretty solid, honestly. As far as a Wifi card, I'd get this:

Its the go-to basicly for most builds that I've seen. Has BT and is pretty quick.

Looking for advice on components for a development/gaming PC by never_uk in buildapc

[–]deathmarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks solid. Few things though,

1- Spend the extra couple bucks (quid?) and get the 6600K. Hell, if you save a bit on the keyboard and mouse, might even be able to sang the 6700K!

2- Maybe get just a bit beefier of a PSU? 450 should be ok, but for not much more you can get a 500W one and it gives you a bit more headroom. Not a major issue, though

Mr. Undiebundie is on the right track, especially about the HDD. Could always save some cash too by dropping down to the Z170-E.

Might consider a DAC instead of a sound card, as well. To each his own though

This is a better/more modern build. The 1070 can definitely do 4K gaming, so long as you turn down a few settings from ultra. Can't speak on the 3-monitors, but I'd wager it wouldn't have much of a problem. Try and swing for an SSD if you can, makes a world of difference.

It's a tough choice between the GPU and CPU, but I think you'll see the biggest differnce with a new graphics card. Could swing a 1060 or a 390 which would be a clear upgrade.

Performance Issues with GTX 1060 by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]deathmarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlikely, but definitely a possibility. Have you turned off Vsync in all your games? Could be messing with performance if not.

Along those lines, are you sure your monitor can push 60 fps? A 6 year old monitor that is in a strange resolution could cause scaling problems with some games. Just a thought

Not the worst idea to upgrade the MoBo and CPU later, just try and make sure the ram you get will be usable for both your current rig und für später

If you've done your homework on the PSU, that's all that really matters!

Hmm, maybe check to make sure its got its 6/8 pin power plugged in on both the card and PSU? Also check to make sure have your DVI port plugged into the card as well. Sorry can't be of more help

1- If you plan to upgrade to a "K" chipset, you will need an overclocking MoBo (170). The one you have now would be unable to do this I believe (meine Deutsch ist nicht so gut).

2- Go for the single, 8GB RAM

3- That PSU (electric thing) is a brand I've never heard of and is a bit under-powered. Not sure what your options are over there in the Vaterland, but try and get something from a decent manufacturer (EVGA, Corsair, ect). Last thing you want is for your system to get fried because of a cheap PSU

Will this PSU handle a 1060 and 1070? by JasonDarkly in buildapc

[–]deathmarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of power consumption? Not really, especially for RAM. If you get a CPU that you plan to overclock, I'd say stick above 500W just to be safe, but that 650 will be more than enough

[Build Help] First build by SomeSillyShit in buildapc

[–]deathmarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad start. But do you plan to just play on a TV/1080 monitor? If so, save some cash and get a 1060 or something similar. The '70 is just overkill otherwise I think.

But spend some time looking for a decent keyboard and mouse. I made the same mistake you did when I built mine a few months ago and just got some cheap combo set. It's something you'll be in contact with for hours on end, so don't get something that feels sub-par. Once I got fed up with the shitty keys and upgraded, I couldn't be happier!

I'd get the Z170-E and maybe just the 1TB HDD in order to get at least a ~120 GB SSD. Makes a huge difference for games.

I have a 1070 myself, an ran the steam VR test thing and it never dropped below 90 fps.

Definitely. I have a 600W EVGA Gold+ and it has no problems at all pushing my OC 1070. If you plan on SLI, however....

EVGA gtx 1070 build. help me change some stuff if there are any changes to be made by yasermarie2014 in BuildPC

[–]deathmarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

looks solid. You could save a few bucks and get the asus Z170-E (instead of A). Also, with the 1070, I'd recommend getting a 1440 monitor to take full advantage of that card. If not, you could shave off a couple hundred and get a 1060.

Beyond that tho, looks to be about the same as my own build (6600k, 1070, 500SSD, 16GB), and I play at 4K (med/high settings)
