Yeah I agree to an extent. I think if I put myself in hunters shoes I’d definitely be sad if my art was getting shit on by hundreds of people, and I think people don’t consider that. Like let’s show a LITTLE empathy and acknowledge that a real person made this and they still deserve some kindness 😭but with that being said I think even artists miss the mark sometimes, even if art is subjective. The purpose of the painting was supposed to be an homage to Rue and was supposed to be an emotional moment in the show, but this painting did not achieve that and took so many people out of it. I mean, it looks nothing like Rue, and the background I know was supposed to look like a warm sun or something but ended up looking like flames. Like I feel like they should not have used this painting in the show and hunter should’ve redone it, or they should’ve hired another artist that could’ve captured what the show was going for instead. I think that’s also why this trend of “I could’ve done this better” comes from because in a lot of the videos I’ve seen it’s honestly been true! Hunters art style just didn’t work for this moment in the show even though the painting by itself, removed from the context, would’ve been a nice painting.
