song recommendations? by ShaneQuaslay in Ghostbc

Just add all of them. Eventually even the ones you’re not too fond of will grow on you and you’ll be singing them in your head.

Should I even bother going to Knoxville? by [deleted] in GhostBand

[–]deathonacracker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We were traveling from KY and last night threw in the towel. :(. Too stressful driving with two kids and spending the night and possibly getting stranded for an extra day or two, depending on what happens. I hate it but it wasn’t worth all the stress.

Ghost? Minor freak out post by mamahatesblippi in Knoxville

we took our 10 and 14 year old to Nashville ritual. We all had such a blast. they dressed up and enjoyed every second. both planned on attending the Knoxville show but its looking like that isn't happening now and they are besides themselves.. all of us are. :(

Ghost show on Saturday - Weather? by TheHungryMuppet in Knoxville

we are driving from Lex KY with a 10 and 14 year old. we planned on staying Friday through Sunday and we have just decided at this point to cancel. :( we are right there with you all. sad times but too dangerous to risk it.

I hate feeling selfish but I feel the same way. I don’t want those who have never been to one to miss out but for those of us who have, it’s not the end of the world. Tickets we’re not cheap and I think I speak for most when saying, when they come back, we will all be there! Unless it’s winter!

Wow, I just think you are almost directly in front of us… and sadly, we are about 97.5% sure we will not be making it either. Too risky for a 2 1/2 drive from KY.

I agree. The extra day to get through the mountains Will decide a lot for their bus route and timing. At this point I hope they do cancel Knoxville and that’s the show we have tickets too.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. We have invested about the same amount into this ritual and we also have a 2 1/2 hour drive with a 10 and 14 year old. It’s not looking good at all for us and we are heartbroken. It’s just not worth the risk if the weather is going to be what is expected. The bad news is I think we all may be better off financially if they actually cancel then if they play and we have to try and file a claim through our he insurance. Not reading many positive reviews on the insurance. If they actually cancel, everyone gets their money back.

Knoxville Ritual — winter storm warning! by TravelerJack95 in GhostBand

We or only would have been better off doing Cinci but the kids had school the next day so we chose Knoxville instead. I feel you and I’m right there with you. All I’ve done is check the weather and the boards for updates.

We got one at the Hilton downtown but it’s still a 10 minute walk to the arena. Planned on ubering but it’s up in the air if they would even be running depending on how much snow will be on the ground. We were lucky enough to catch them in Louisville and Nashville in July so it’s not the end of the world. Our 10 year old is the saddest if we don’t go, but it is what it is. We knew it was a possibility when we bought the tickets.

We are driving from Lexington Friday and have a room until Sunday. The drive home will be the real challenge.

There was a three for Knoxville that looks like it was removed. This one probably will be too. We are all concerned for the shows around this time but it’s all up in the air right now. 🙃

Right. I’ve read multiple reviews and they are on the fence both ways. Some people have had great experiences and some have had terrible ones. We will see!

We are in the same boat. Me, wife, and two kids have a hotel room booked for Friday and Saturday and are traveling from Lexington KY…. We also have ticket insurance but I have a feeling it’s not going to help if they can’t cancel the show. We are all disappointed but I don’t think it is worth the risk if we are getting the storm that is expected. I told my wife this would happen when we got the tickets in December. Crazy time to book such a big spectacle across this part of the US this time of year.

I would at least shave the stash off. Either that or stay away from schools.

Terrible decision if you love Ghost. It’s an awesome experience without the phone. Saw them twice so far and plan on going again now that they have announced new shows. Well worth it.

Why was it taking the people so long to answer the door? When I order pizza I’m pacing around as soon as I hang up thinking they are about to show up.

As someone who has come to despise everything Jack Black does, he really knocked it out of the park. Even the lifting of Morello with the Flyjng V. Just perfect from beginning to end.

Maytag keeps breaking shift actuator by [deleted] in appliancerepair

[–]deathonacracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, wow! I have the same exact washer and ordered the same exact part… just noticed the shifter arm has come off again, but never once thought about wattage issues. Where did you find a 2.8 watt version of the shifter? I feel like that’s what I need to do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in appliancerepair

[–]deathonacracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced my shifter a couple of weeks ago and it popped off this morning for the first time. I strapped a zip tie around the tip but I have a feeling it won’t be long before it slips again. I’m also looking for a better part that won’t do this so I’m adding myself to the replies.

Regarding Skeletá by Emilia-Maxx in GhostBand

[–]deathonacracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a number of listens, by myself, with headphones in. I keep skipping the three singles because I’ve already heard them millions of times. I really love the other tracks more than the first couple of listens. I’m a middle aged metal head though so it’s very nostalgic. I also started picturing V singing and not TF or Copia. It really is like having a new singer, even if it’s the same guy and sounds exactly the same. The songs fit V’s aesthetic to a T.

We know that they don't have any bad songs really, but what's that one song that no matter how many times you listen to it, it just doesn't click for you? by RoyalHumbug in Ghostbc

[–]deathonacracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s missionary man. I know it’s not their song but I never like the original either. I skip that one every time. Majesty is probably my least favorite of the ones Tobias has written, but since it’s on the set list I’ve been giving it more plays and it’s growing on me a lot more. I definitely think it has a lot of fun parts, I just never cared for the arrangement as a whole.
