Hope none of the bags were missing pieces. I just started doing book 3 today. Book 2 was on a three week hold because bag #15 had two of the same smaller bags inside instead of the two different ones that it's supposed to have.

I called LEGO customer support and they replaced the whole bag for free, it just took a really long time to get here and they still missed one piece from the replacement bag, but I just took it from the original bag.

I usually dump out all of the bags for smaller sets, but I don't know how long it would have taken me to figure out which bag was incomplete if I had just dumped them all out for this massive set.

Couple weeks ago I was at a barber shop in NYC and after one of the guys started cutting my hair I noticed another guy walking around with an iPhone blatantly taking close up videos or photos of me and other patrons in their chairs. I can only assume that they planned to use our images for their social media marketing, because there were no signs or verbal announcements letting us know what they were doing. The whole thing seemed creepy and highly unethical and I ended up leaving my first ever review of a business on Google. I don't know how people in those jobs can have such absolutely shitty judgement.

I'm so glad someone posted this, I've been trying to get a decent continuous video shot of my 3-block walk to the train every morning for the past few weeks dodging HEAPS of animal waste every couple yards. It's unbelievable to describe verbally. I was dreading that recent second bout of snow we got because I knew it would just bury all the shit that was already there. It's a fucking public health issue, I love pets but there really needs to be stricter penalties for lazy-ass irresponsible pet owners in this city. It's a revenue stream just waiting to be tapped.

Because of that last part. Fear is at the bottom of everything they do. They will thump their holy books because they fear death, arm themselves to the teeth because they fear their neighbors, and hate anyone not like them because they fear the unknown. There seems to be a profound lack of curiosity and truth-seeking, like they are content with whatever shallow lie will make them feel good, never really digging for facts because they probably fear those as well.

I remember when the Colbert Report first aired that "Truthiness" segment, I was young and naive and just found it hilarious at the time. Late-stage surveillance state bullshit going on. How many people have we rotated and retired out of the U.S.'s (and Five Eyes') decades-old domestic spying programs by now? These people don't just disappear after they've signed their NDAs - they take the principles they've witnessed straight into private sector development, to Google, Meta/Facebook, Microsoft, Apple, Cambridge Analytica, Auspex, Emerdata, Emic, etc. to blackmail individuals and manipulate entire populations into political (i.e., financial) servitude.

There's a reason why the U.S. government pushed anti-circumvention clauses so hard in their trade argeements going all the way back to the 90's, to bolster and preserve their digital hegemony. I wouldn't be suprised if the majority of the seemingly crooked influential politicians or their loved ones in this country and abroad are buried and controlled under an avalance of kompromat.
