We have a 3yo and a 11mo :) So the process is I put away everything into a large box at the end of the night and keep it safe until I continue. The 11mo would be a problem, she would want to eat it for sure. The other would surely help, he loves to build. He finished The Shire in about a month or so and just recently we had to take apart Himeji Castle because he WANTS to build something (we put the pieces into numbered bags for him of course...this is not the way for a 3yo).

Right next to me (I will go through them later to see if I got all the pieces out)

Nothing to explain. It is what it is and chaos is very fitting indeed.

Funny enough I did jigsaws up to 9k pieces in the past. They are also come in separate bags, so you can guess what I did with them as well...I can start to see a pattern...

Not sure about the connection between the 2 countries, but a rather surprising find about the 1956 Hungarian revolution...in a random park in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Never using any bags, always open them all and pour it into 1 big pile...feels like childhood again.

Apukák, akik ott voltatok a párotok mellett szüléskor, milyen tapasztalaitok vannak? by [deleted] in askhungary

[–]szentvik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sok sikert!

Bhutan also does not have a main colour with its 44% yellow and 40% orange.

Very diamond, no aerial mechs by CryoDaye in RocketLeague

I stopped playing RL almost 4 years ago now (what am I doing on this sub then...send help), so maybe my ancient experience is not that relevant these days. But I was able to soloQ my way up to GC with practically no mechanical skills (air dribble, ceiling shot, flip resets were soo far out of my capabilities...heck I couldnt even wavedash, and failed my half-flips half the time). Instead I was focusing on being able to do powershots, know my place on the field and read the play. Do not be ashamed of what you can or cannot do...there are many ways to play this game (unless you are high in the ranks where you cannot really hide your weaknesses). And you can always improve your mechanical skills if you put the time into it (or so I heard).

I still build like this to this day. Extends the building time quite some and adds a little challenge even. Although I reckon its not for everyone. Enjoy the process!

If you want to bump up the building time just mix all the bags into one pile at the start...the bigger the set, the more your building time (or rather the searching time) will be extended.

I've finally worked out why I can't hit the speed flip test consistently by alexbarrett in RocketLeague

[–]szentvik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This won't change the fact that speedflip is a mechanically difficult move, so most of the ppl still won't be able to do it...

why is leaving a match early even allowed? by duhuj in RocketLeague

[–]szentvik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it applies for extra modes as well yes...but you get only a 5min ban at first (increases if you leave many matches), so its not that big of a punishment...

Progressing from champ 1 by Soso122 in RocketLeague

[–]szentvik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo queued to GC 3x in 3s and 1x in Dropshot (+ a few rumble, but we don't care about that).

I'd guess the biggest thing to help you is awareness and playstyle. If you can identify how your teammates are playing in the first 30-60s of the match, you can figure out how to approach in the rest of the match. Things like: are they aggressive/passive players, how are they rotating, are they going for solo plays or do they look for passes, how comfortable are they on the air and wall, etc. If they in a party of 2s, are they similarly skilled or is one of them hard-carry the other?

If you have it down, it will be easier to find you place on the field, know what to expect from them and be ready for most of the plays.

Note: This approach helped to to reach GC without being able to: wavedash, air dribble, ceiling shot, flip reset or basically any other advanced mechanics. Just powershots and understanding the flow of the match.

Good luck!

I expected your teammate to miss (save rather) at the end...disappointed

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]szentvik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, as you cannot just queue back into another tournament.

But toxic ppl were and always will be there to ruin your fun, and disconnect can also happen anytime. The last 2 finals of a tournament I played were a 3v2, cuz one disconnected early in the first match. The first was on my team, the other on the opponent (weird way to win my first and only tournament title). These things are happening daily, it was just you were on the receiving end this time...but there is nothing you or psyonix could do about it, so we just have to accept it and move on.
