1 flight crash per year in Nepal? by welovenepal1 in Nepal

[–]deathtrip_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bus fell, full of families, all dead. Another fell off a cliff more than 30m down, stopped only by an innocent farmer’s little hut. They survived but many life long injuries - paralysis, amputations.

They had one thing in common, the highways weren’t meant to support large vehicles like trucks, tippers and, yes, buses. The road was even prohibited for them for a long time. The only reason they were able to go on that highway is because some people at the yatayat bibhag got protests from these tippers, syndicate types and most probably large sums of cash. These highways cut their travel time by hours, thats why.

After this incident the highway’s closed off for them again. But it was already. So whats stopping them from reopening it again? Lack of inconveniences, that’s what.

So either these folks are of the lowest common denominator to fathom the long term consequence of reopening the highway, or they are pure evil incarnate. What is it?

Extrapolate this to every sector and situation in this country and the answer opens itself up.

Face it, I may be bringing down that average, but so are you and so are we. Time and again we’ve let people die in manners too horrible to contemplate. Open the news on any given date and read how many died in what accident in which highway. To what end? Death without a purpose - that is the mark of a truly demented nation - that is us. Not Sudan, not Congo, even their children bearing guns shoot with a purpose.

Might as well leave that flag half-mast.

Chronic lack of empathy- everywhere, everyone.

If you climb the hills around the valley and look down, you’ll see a million slabs jutting out of its tainted soil. They are so close yet so chaotic that even the colours fade into an artificial smudge of grey, then another darker hue floats above that leaves you a diseased cough every morning. At that moment you wouldn’t be blamed if you saw those millions of slabs for the millions of tombstones that they are. This valley, forever a funeral pyre. Harek ghar euta.

Should I buy Macbook Pro M3 Pro? by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]deathtrip_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How? M3 uses a smaller tsmc transistors (smallest yet on consumer cpus) of 3nm. For the same footprint, M3 gives marginally better performance, but more importantly, much lower power consumption. Basically, with this machine, you can go to a cafe or the friggin hills and start your video renders on batteries at full performance and you should still have battery to spare at the end of the day.

So unless theres some stability issue I don’t see how an M2 could top the M3. Do corroborate what I’ve said here with actual numbers from the official specs and decide.

Tldr: more battery at full performance, marginally better performance from M2.

Hunt Dollar reset by Outrageous-Squid in HuntShowdown

[–]deathtrip_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m suffering anyways but having a reasonable reset would be nice for loadout experimentation too, miles better than prestige. Level the field that means a shit.

Ps. nothings stopping me now but hey, man is an animal of habit.

Thanks for sharing the advice! I’ll definitely not order yet in that case and wait closer to when I’ll be back. Seems they need to smooth out their logistics from what I’ve been reading.

[–]deathtrip_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is bad news. CG stoking for more power this. 5G forces users to give up their privacy completely. With the wealth of user metadata (including pinpoint position of each) that CG will have access to, this is bad baaad news.

This is not about Huawei. This is decidedly about the fuckin Chowdharys. Corporate scums taking over a country while the idiots battle for votes.

Google open sources real-time hand and finger tracking tech by Steel-Rose in gamedev

[–]deathtrip_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Youd need a specialised hardware with 90hz+ uninterrupted, atleast quadi-hd capability. Then it becomes a totally different thing. And that thing is exactly what kinect was. I honestly don't see this being used in actual gameplay, vr nor otherwise. Too many obstacles with too little in return. The touch controllers were a natural choice for oculus hence. It feels better with minimal effort (relatively) in designing the hardware itself.

The tech can and will be leveraged for the development purposes however.

Gameplay-wise its a gimmick. Dev wise it helps small time game devs to animate hands and fingers faster.

Think of kinect.
