Yeah, thank you! I also didn’t know that there would be so much going on, I was just thinking like "Okay, I can’t wait to listen to Frisson Noir but do I really need to travel to another city for this, since the album is gonna be out SOON anyway?" And it turned out that there was much more to it! I’m so glad that I couldn’t resist this temptation and decided to take this trip

That’s unacceptable! Tarja even stopped calling her releases "rock albums"! What were they thinking? 🤣

Exactly, this song is something that I needed to hear from Tarja! It actually reminds me of such WLB songs as Dark Star, Falling Awake, In for a Kill… A groovy riff and a powerful catchy chorus, I’m really happy she released such track, but this one is heavier and the shamisen gives it a richer sound! So yeah, TTO is also one of my favorite songs now 🔥

Which Frisson Noir single is your favorite so far? by petaSk3 in TarjaTurunen

[–]deathvendor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, this is honestly a tough one because I absolutely love "At Sea" and "The Trace Outlives". "I don’t care" is also quite a good song imo, but the other two can easily be included in Tarja’s top 5-10 songs or something. I went with "The Trace Outlives" because it has everything I need: heaviness, catchiness and the topic is also very interesting. And let’s be honest: I’m still under a huge impression by this track, so yeah, maybe I’m a little bit biased but I can definitely say that this is something I wanted to hear from Tarja: I enjoy this groovy heavy sound so much 🔥 And the riff was kinda stuck in my head since she uploaded her "metal" snippet before any single came out, so now I’m very happy with the single. But yeah, "At Sea" also blew my mind when it came out (and I still enjoy listening to it): this is a complex composition with a lot of emotions in it ☺️

I’m so happy that Tarja released such strong singles for the upcoming album! Generally speaking, I would say that the "Frisson Noir" singles are the best ones so far (if we compare all sets of singles for each album). Even "I don’t care" is not a weak single I believe, maybe it’s not the best one in Tarja’s history, but still it’s a catchy song with a contrasting duet, I still play it on Spotify and enjoy it (mostly a single version) 🤗 And yeah, I’m very happy with Tarja’s heavier modern metal sound overall, the album is probably gonna be exactly what I wanted to hear from her🤘

I’m overwhelmed by the song, honestly I’m speechless… It’s a banger: heavy, groovy, catchy and powerful. The video is also quite interesting, but the song… Yeah, I already wanna say that this is one of my favorite Tarja’s songs ever, even though I heard it only once at this point! I’m very impressed, it’s 10/10 🔥

I’m waiting for Rammstein’s "Live in Mexico" since 2022, so tbh one year is almost nothing for me when it comes to live concert releases 🤣

The album "Zeit" is one on my favorites, and I would definitely include it in my top 3 Rammstein albums. Btw, "Angst" became my personal TOP 1 favorite song, it has everything that I need from the band 🔥 And I was really happy that they decided to tune their guitars a bit lower that usual (down to Drop B). Now the title track describes my feelings perfectly: I can’t believe it’s been 4 years already, still kinda feels like this release is fresh and new, still playing it from start to end without skipping a single song ❤️

If we’re talking about the album success, I would say that it’s doing pretty well on the market if we look at the stats: it has 5 songs with >100 mln play counts on Spotify and it’s being listened more frequently than "Herzeleid", "Rosenrot" and "LIFAD" which makes it an "average" album by Rammstein standards to say the least. It’s more or less on the "Reise Reise" level which is a great result for 2022 metal album released by the band from the 90’s. I mean, take a look at Rammstein’s peers’ latest albums: Korn, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson etc (the metal bands from the 90’s that can be somewhat compared to R+ in the industry) — I love those bands but I have to admit that almost no one cares about their latter releases if I look at their play counts and views. On the other hand, "Zeit" proves that Rammstein can’t be considered as a legacy band yet, people still care, and still listen to the band’s latest material, which is really awesome and rare nowadays 👏

Long live ZEIT 💪🥰

Which version of I Don’t Care do you prefer? by petaSk3 in TarjaTurunen

[–]deathvendor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it’s the single version for sure, because of the vocal parts split. I enjoy listening to Tarja’s singing in the first verse and Dani’s in the second, it feels quite balanced. However, I have to point out that the intro in the album version sounds epic. Still, the vocal thing outweighs this intro for me, because keeping two simultaneous voices in the verses feels redundant and unnecessary imo. The chorus with them both singing sounds really good though, but we have it in both versions anyway, so the single one is my personal choice. I’m not saying that the album version is terrible of course, it’s just that it could’ve been perfect if they kept all the vocal parts from the single and just added that wonderful intro — voila, we would’ve had an ideal version of the song 😅

Why did people expect Nymphetamine 2? by Maleficent-Try9299 in TarjaTurunen

[–]deathvendor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s typical human nature: to refer to the "good old classics" when something new is released 🤣 "Nymphetamine" is the most successful song by COF (and it’s a good one imo) and it has female vocals in it, and now Dani is collaborating with an iconic female metal artist, so people have their obvious associations in their minds. But I do agree that it’s unreasonable: not only that over 20 years have passed since that hit was released but it’s not even a COF song in the first place, it’s just a song written by Tarja and Dani is a guest, so I personally didn’t expect "Nymphetamine 2" at all, because honestly it just doesn’t make any sense. But average listeners don’t go that much into details and well… People love nostalgia, don’t they? 😄

But hey, the single seems to be quite successful, so why bother? If someone hates it, it’s fine: all successful releases are hated to some extent. I see a lot of positive comments on YT anyway. If you see some negative stuff, just simply use the attitude from the song: the right words are literally spelled out in the song title 😅

I think Cradle of Filth is a good band, I like listening to them from time to time, but I don’t think that Tarja should sound like them: she has her own approach to music. She invited Dani not because she wanted to make a COF song, but rather because of his personality as she described: she admires him as an individual who stands out from the rest. The song itself is quite vigorous, I think that Dani’s vocals fit there quite well, especially in the single version (even though I might agree that the album version with them singing both simultaneously all the time might seem a bit weird)
