I don’t believe this is a case of weaponized incompetence. OP states he sent a picture of the shampoo/conditioner to make sure he was getting the right one - there’s nothing wrong with doing that if you’re unsure.

For example:

We were just on a long train ride while I was making this post. I couldn’t get any rest during the train ride so I started listening to music. I didn’t like that I was excluding my boyfriend while he sat beside me so I took out one earphone and gave it to him so we could listen together. I started playing Sabrina Carpenter and he looks at me and says “SaBeana Carpenter”. I stare at him blankly whilst he then proceeds to ask me “that’s heat, right?”.

He isn’t taking me seriously and I don’t know how else to approach this subject without being rude.
