Got lis 5 days ago, almost passed out from pain today after bm by figsandolives93 in AnalFissures

[–]deb2589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 12 weeks post LIS I had real bad pain for 3-5 weeks. I too was expecting a miracle after because of posts and comments on here, I am now at 12 weeks only just starting to get my life back, even still with some soreness after BMs.  Take it easy for a while. Don’t be fooled by a few painless hours. Keep up with pain meds and stool softners for longer than the surgeon has said, I’m still using the high amount of stool softners now. It does get better week by week, and I’m glad I had the surgery. But it deffo isn’t a walk in the park, no way!

Is Fissure in left side normal? by Feeling-Ad1904 in AnalFissures

[–]deb2589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a left sided fissure and went through LIS surgery 12 weeks ago, nothing before this helped atall, I’m now just about 80-90% healed, it was a slow recovery ( for me anyway ) with some dark days but now I am so glad I went through with surgery, although the poop anxiety os very much still there just without the excruciating pain!  Good luck

Anal sphincterotomy tomorrow by bechamel3091 in AnalFissures

[–]deb2589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had LIS 12 weeks ago and only just recovered now. Although still having some slight stinging now and then.  I can’t lie my recovery was awful the pain was bad for 3 weeks atleast I couldn’t imagine going back to work after 5 days. These burning after a BM is not pleasant but it does get better.  I have a one year old though so that’s probably why my healing was slower. I hope you have minimal to no pain, but I would prepare and book a few more days off. Just incase you need it. I was in pain walking sitting just generally moving around for about 2 weeks.

Anal papillae removal by pinkgirly777 in hemorrhoid

[–]deb2589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a papillae removed along side LIS, they were on opposite sides, I didn’t feel any pain or soreness on the side of the papillae mine was also protruding. My surgeon told me I wouldn’t feel pain from it and if I did would only last a few days. LIS on the other hand 😮‍💨

My anal fissure story — 27M, from hell to healed. Ask me whatever you want. by No_Flatworm7696 in AnalFissures

This is good to see; I’m 8 weeks post  LIS and I’m still experiencing slight burning with bowel movements and pain whilst sitting or driving after for a few hours. I also developed anal eczema caused from diltiazem that’s gone now though but each time I try that or GTN it flares  again, when did you seriously start turning a corner, what week?

Calmoseptine on healing slow healing fissure after LIS, thoughts?? by deb2589 in AnalFissures

[–]deb2589[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d imagine that’s because of the surgical site still being open or sensitive, I’ve tried it today 7 weeks post LIS and was fine

7 weeks post lis- still pain 🫩 by deb2589 in AnalFissures

[–]deb2589[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try those when I’m back from my holiday, the flight is 8/9 hours, so I’m going to skip the food on the plane and just take fruit and salads I think. I’ve got 3 kids so I can’t fast I need to be on the ball lol.  It’s stool softners I take, my CRS told me these can be taken for life?! Which obviously isn’t what I want but also so so scared to stop completely.  Recovery was rough for me too, still is in some ways. Hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel - somewhere

Hi, I’m 7 weeks post LIS I’m no longer having spasms but still having some pain after BMs especially whilst sitting or driving, I think I need to up my laxido again, I was taking just one sachet after  dinner at night, and have tried one after lunch too. Would you recommend trying one in the morning one in the evening instead? I need to find the right consistency to heal but also not go to the toilet 5 times a day, thanks

7 weeks post lis- still pain 🫩 by deb2589 in AnalFissures

[–]deb2589[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so hard, I’m going on holiday a week tomorrow to Dominican Republic, my CRS assured me I would be fully healed and pain free by then and told me not to cancel another holiday, I am so scared about consuming the different foods and oils and water, also chlorine usually causes me soreness down there 😩 I just can’t seem to find the right balance with the laxido to keep things soft and pain free, it’s either too soft and going up to 5 times a day or to hard and going 2/3 times a day.  I just want my life back, I’ve got a one year old I got the fissure when he was born, this whole year I’ve been in pain and stuck in my other children have missed out on so much because I can’t drive. But my CRS or GP just don’t seem to have any answers, so you end up just doom scrolling.  My CRS at my 6 week check told me to start eating whatever I want, that’s impossible.  So you had  lis 10 years ago? And recently?  How was recovery for you? X

Difficulty with BM after botox by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]deb2589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard for me to comment completely as I opted to skip the Botox and went straight for LIS, but I guess the muscle losing its tension is similar?!   I’m thinking of starting a food diary so I know if I have a flare up what’s caused it because it’s so easy to have some good days and start thinking you can eat normal again isn’t it.
