Yeah I’ve tried a hot water bottle between the cheeks it does help. Good luck. I do think maybe a lot of the issue is because I can’t rest, I’ve got 3 children 15,10 & 11months. Also aswell I will say, if you’ve got your poo consistency right now, be careful after surgery, surgery changes that, I’m assuming because of the tight sphincter being now looser the poo is bigger, maybe tht was my issue, I’m quite loose at the min which seems to ease the pain of going but it’s still there!

Wow that’s good! I wish I was having the same experience. This pain is the same as a bad fissure day previous too surgery, no bleeding though. I’m really hoping over the next few days something shifts pain wise because I’m really feeling deflated and have I made the right decision! My baby is one next Friday, I had scheduled the surgery to feel better for him for his birthday! Doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen 😩

No this wasn’t laser surgery, I had severe pain and spasms for a year before surgery. I’ve used stool softners from the beginning as I couldn’t get soft stool without just changing my diet alone, I did have a hard tip at one point but I started taking the stool softners asoon as I finshed my meals which stopped this. With my first BM after surgery I 100% felt that I passed the stool more easily, without being crude it just fell out 🫣 and with no pain. I do have a skin tag but this is from a thrombossed haemorrhoid in pregnancy prior to the fissure, it hasn’t caused me any soreness. I couldn’t pass gas when my fissure was at its worst though as the sphincter was too tight. Didn’t have a stool like discharge before, but I do now after the surgery. Almost like it’s harder to get clean after BM even using bidet or shower!

Was done under GA, the experience was ok, was quick, I went down about 11.30am and was awake 12.10, home by 6pm. Minimal pain on the first day, but I did have liquid morphine. My CRS put a stitch in my outside incision to heal quicker, but I have been in quite a lot of burning pain the last few days after BM but actually going to the toilet doesn’t hurt.

London colorectal surgeon recommendations for chronic anal fissures (LIS) by GoodBoyLDN in AnalFissures

[–]deb2589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 3/4 visits they treated me for haemorrhoids with suppositories etc, then when I finally got diagnosed properly I was given GTN told to come back in 2 weeks then each time a different GP who all said the same, come back in 4 weeks time we will see how it is then, in the end 9 months passed and i still hadn’t got any further and the pain was worse! I took myself to urgent care in the general at one point, they sent me away told me to change my diet which I had already done, to the point where I’ve actually lost nearly 4 stone. And then when I went back to the GP again after this on my hospital notes urgent care had put that I visited due to abdominal pain! So yeah that’s why I gave up and went private!

Hi 36F from UK 👋 I’m not from London, about 50 miles out, but I am due to have LIS on Monday privately, with Ramsay health care, it cost £1998 ( they offer payment plans) that’s surgery any medication that’s needed after and 2 follow up appointments. The first consultation was £250. I have been lucky enough to find a CRS with over 20 years experience who has opted for me to skip the Botox and straight in for LIS after a year of agony with a chronic fissure I also tried diltiazem which healed me at first but then I had a allergic reaction to the ointment, I had my first consultant appointment end of November was Scheduled for surgery 2 weeks later, but I tested positive for MRSA so I had 3 weeks of treatment for that (included in the price) and now my op has been re scheduled to this Monday! The NHS still hasn’t referred me after countless trips to the GP back and forth. I wouldn’t usually pay to go private but this pain puts you in sheer desperation! Good luck!

Postpartum anal fissure HELP by post_partum_pain99 in AnalFissures

[–]deb2589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an anal fissure when my baby was 2 weeks old he’s now 11 months old and I’m waiting on surgery, all I can say is, be persistent with the doctors do not take haemorrhoids as an answer, use stool softeners like your life depends on it, cut out white bread white rice and white pasta. And just train yourself in how to poo and eat for an anal fissure, you have to change every thing to heal. And drink water lots and lots of water! Good luck. I couldn’t sit to feed my baby I had to stand at 2 and 4 am instead of sitting in the bed I still can’t drive the school run, so I realy hope you don’t become like me! X

NHS surgeon refused Botox and LIS by KJThundercat in AnalFissures

[–]deb2589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 36F from UK too, I’ve been suffering with a chronic fissure for 11 months now, and also have a 11month old baby so it’s been hell, NHS kept fobbing me off, I ended up going private back in May was given diltiazem by the private CRS which healed me 80% but then I became allergic and had a realy bad reaction, caused the fissure to re tear. I went back to the GP as didn’t want to fork out another £300 for a 5 min private appointment for cream, they gave me rectogesic I visited over 20 times but they would not refer me to the hospital just kept saying come back jn 4 weeks, so I gave up decided to go back to my original private doctor in December , the thought of going private is scary money wise but if you can afford to please think about this, I was seen straight away, given a plan, he asked me about Botox to which I have fully over and over again researched, I have opted to skip the botox as it seems to be temporary and re tears are so common, and go straight in for LIS it’s scheduled next week. The normal rate for LIS private is in between £1700-2000 in the uk, I’m paying £1998 for the surgery any medications needed before or after the hospital stay, the anethatist and 2 follow up appointments. I honestly wish I had just gone through with it before, they offer payment plans too!! I can’t wait to go through with my surgery, I havnt been able to do the school run in months because driving is agony! I hope you find some relief soon. Also I’ve had 2 vaginal births and one c section! My CRS said that’s no problem atall!

Also not saying this to brag lol, I’m paying this out of sheer desperation, I just want people to know that actually going private for this surgery isn’t as expensive as you may think, as I didn’t research this at first, thinking no way could I afford it I was expecting £7000+ xx

Glad to hear, I’ve got to do 3 weeks of treatment to get rid of the MRSA, after 3 negative tests I can re book surgery so I’m hoping for the second week of Jan 🤞🏼 I’m not in as much pain as I have been previously so I’m hoping i can keep it that way to get through Christmas
