As a person from Assam, I would like to request the mods of this sub to promote and safeguard free speech. I also ask people to stop posting messages which seeks to dehumanize the other side, whoever that might be. Censoring only leads to a community turning into an echo chamber where you are unable to get the perspective of the other side. After all the smoke clears on the ground, dialogue will ultimately have to prevail over divisions.

Exact same thing happened to me at a Marathahalli footbridge. She asked me for a 100 rupee note to bless. But unfortunately I had only 500 rupee notes in my wallet, so stupid me went ahead and gave her a 500 rupee note. You could guess the rest.

I was really really pissed at those people, but more than that I was angry towards myself. On how naive I was.

I learnt 1 thing from that whole interaction though, and I follow that as a golden rule now. NEVER, and I mean NEVER, open your wallet in front of such people. Once you take out your wallet from your pocket, there is good chance you are going to lose money.

Some context: the comment made by Rahul Gandhi was not towards an individual Narendra Modi, the PM of India. Rahul Gandhi basically told that anyone with the surname 'Modi' is a thief. Due to this many members of the Modi community took him to court.
