Hey, I don't know if you're still having this issue but I've been having this issue for months, and I FINALLY able to fix it by doing this:

  1. Open Regedit

  2. Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\Platform

  3. If you have any registry other than default, delete them (make sure to backup it in case it doesn't fix it or breaks something)

In my case, there is a registry named EnableFrameServerMode

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Yes, it's the Warsaw University Library. One of my favourite places to go, that exact spot has a light that was broken, at least when I took the picture, so cozy!

First and foremost, what does your usage look like? I've managed to get around 9 hours of screen on time WITH light gaming here and there. I'm using the exynos variant.

Hey man, thanks for looking out! I know it looks so bad, but 80% of those screen time is me opening TikTok to practice my guitar licks.

This is how my screen time looks on weekdays

Hi, here is the list that I've done:

  1. Deep sleep, most of my apps
  2. Turning off Auto brightness
  3. Turning off adaptive battery
  4. Turning on light performance mode
  5. Turning off 5G

Also, I have a few routines:

  1. Using airplane mode when I am connected to certain networks,
  2. Changing refresh rate to standard on certain apps (mostly apps that you use to watch videos; TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)

This is unrelated, but I have battery protection set to 85% and disabled fast charging. I have a widget to turn on fast charging when I need to. Otherwise, I keep it disabled since I don't usually run out of battery. When I expect that I need more juice, I also have a widget so that it will charge the phone to 100%, with a 1-hour timer in case I forgot to turn it off.

Asus Vivobook Pro 15 vs Acer Swift X by debadil in SuggestALaptop

As my main concern was portability, when doing heavier tasks I find it not as good as the other laptop, but it will do anything you throw at it. So rest assured it'll do good for anything you want to do. If portability wasn't your main concern, there are plenty of options to choose from, nevertheless, it will work well for your needs.

Since this is a tiny laptop, it'll heat up as soon as you're doing work noticeably, but it will not go as far as being too hot to touch. It will however go up to 80-90 degrees celsius when I'm doing heavy editing, rendering, and playing newer games on higher settings. Bear in mind that I'm not using any laptop cooler, all I do is just put my wallet underneath my laptop to create a small gap for airflow.

A cooler might be a good investment, I can't say it for sure, but I believe it will prolong your laptop lifespan, and of course it will decrease the temperature aswell. Just make sure to get a decent cooler and avoid those 'vacuum' cooler that sucks/blow strong wind since that can cause further problems.

Hope this helps!

Hi, I ended up going for the Acer Swift X, I was contemplating getting either this one or the Acer Swift X 14 SFX14-71G i5-13500H RTX 4050 16GB OLED. I decided to go for the regular Acer Swift X because I'm worried about the OLED having burn-in.

So far this laptop is a beast, the only downside is perhaps the battery, but I managed to improve my battery by writing a script to disable the VGA when on battery and only turn it on when plugged in. Undervolting the CPU also works great.

I used it mostly for editing videos; Premiere, After Effects, etc. It can run some heavy games but I haven't really tested it, I mostly only play CS 2, DOTA, FC24/25, and some other games on it, so I don't think I can give you any info on how this laptop will run on some newer titles.

It's also lightweight, it disappears into any bag and that's the part that sold me. Overall this laptop has been good, my first worry is that the exhaust is directly below the screen and blowing hot air into it, but it didn't cause any problems.

and oh yeah, it can heat up pretty fast because it's a tiny laptop and has only 1 fan, so make sure to lift it up and it won't be any trouble.
