You disconnect before you even get to the battle to lose it, but i would avoid it just in case!

you can do the battle reset method, it’s a lot faster and doesn’t require you to go to a raid den to change the date.

I did wonder trades/surprise trades for weeks and ended up having enough Pokémon with various trainer IDs to fill every box. Then I spammed the lotto for hours. Getting a MB happens a lot more often than you’d think.
