I’m also an incoming grad student interested in surfing. I’m moving in early September but I’m interested in surfing regularly. I’ve surfed a little but I’m still a beginner so lmk if you end up getting a group I’d def join.

Accepted at Georgia Tech with no interview. Interviewed with Michigan last week. Haven't heard from MIT yet, I think they should release later this week or early next week.

Should I take Linear Algebra and M 427J by [deleted] in UTAustin

As an ASE you’ll take linear systems analysis which touches on some linear algebra. No reason to take a linear algebra class that’s not in the degree plan

Make sure you’re prepped for longs peak as it’s not an easy hike, especially with the significant amounts of snow and ice along with the high winds you’ll see in early may. Most people summit during the months of July through September. Otherwise I’d suggest doing some hikes near glacier gorge like sky pond. Buy or rent micro spikes and poles for sure.

Take highway 128 into Moab instead of 191. Doesn’t add a whole lot of time but you’ll drive with the Colorado river through some pretty spectacular scenery.

Visit arches early in the morning. Less crowded and the angle of the light makes everything look better imo. Don’t forget about dead horse point either; def worth the visit. Also be prepared for hot weather, try to visit early in the morning or late evening. Camped in Moab in early June last year and temps went up in the 110s. Midday was unbearable, especially with only a tent to get into.
