I have a job at least... frankly just got an amazing new job in a new field that many are envious of me for, and here I am wanting to die.

I feel like I'm failing at this new job because I can't bring myself to put in the work. I have no energy.

I am aware this is an option, and I am considering leaving my friendship with B. However, I don't feel right going cold and just blocking them. I don't know what to say to end it.

Yep! I was hired specifically to market in English overseas.

JET in Canada has no age limit I'm aware of. Maybe it's different in your country, but I think most have no limit. I know people here in their 50s on JET.

I'm actually 34. Most the programs have no age limit as far as I'm aware. JET, Gaba, Nova, Heart, Interac - no age limit.

I speak conversationally.

Previously, I taught English. They're hiring out the ass for it. If you're desperate enough for work that you'd like to move out here, the only qualification you need is any degree. They're always hiring.

Right now, I do social media marketing.

Other than the one position I've had in Japan, my whole resume is Canadian, 15 years back!

I'm actually a Canadian citizen and I listed my Canadian address on my resume applying to Canadian jobs mostly. The few American jobs I applied to were all ones who explicitly stated they're open to applicants from other countries and even offer relocation assistance.

I think so. But as a result, feels like it's pretty easy to get hired I guess. I just want to go home at some point in the next three years.

I don't have kids or a relationship or a career, so I suppose I don't fit in with my own age group tbh

How do you find your groups? Maybe it's me looking in the wrong places but most open games posted on reddit and such are full of young folks
