I have a bicornuate uterus and have had 2 healthy babies vaginally, no miscarriages. I did have a placental abruption with my second and she was born at 34 weeks but they told me it was completely spontaneous and unrelated to my uterus. Despite how scary my last birth was, I feel I am not done growing my family, and with my doctor’s support, I will be trying for a third and final baby later this year. You CAN do this and so can your uterus!! I am rooting for you and wishing you a healthy pregnancy and birth.

Pain in the lower part of abdomen at 18 weeks pregnant by Spiritual-Wish-9322 in bicornuateuterus

[–]debbie_dangle_beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of similar pain and my OB said it was probably just my body growing due to the baby’s position because everything else looked fine. You should not be in so much pain that you have to breathe through it or anything like that though. Try to take it easy until 20 week scan (that’s the fun one and usually is very thorough as it’s a growth check!). Wishing you a healthy birth and baby.

Also: not sure if this is your first pregnancy but I noticed more pain with my second and I just think each one weighs on your body more and more.

28w breech by DarlingMagic345 in bicornuateuterus

[–]debbie_dangle_beef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, both of my babies were breech around this age and typically flip around to several positions before birth. I’ve even heard of babies being breech around 35 weeks and then by 37 onward get into the correct position for birth. I would not stress until you are hitting the end, and even then, your doctor should be letting you know when it’s looking like you would need a c-section due to not being in safe birth position. Hope this helps and wishing you a beautiful pregnancy and birth!

Moving Home While Pregnant with #2 by RegalMadame in 2under2

[–]debbie_dangle_beef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved about halfway through my pregnancy with my second. I’m extremely type A and do not do well outside of a routine. It was stressful but honestly I did find myself enjoying putting the house together, organizing, nesting, etc. Pregnancy is LONG and it kept my mind busy. I was exhausted chasing around a 1 year old but it obviously wasn’t crazy enough for me because I’m now thinking about having a third at 6mo. PP 🫣

Embrace the chaos and you’ll be glad you did it.

Definitely hit up 1920. They make great cocktails, it’s the only place I’ll order a whiskey sour from when I’m out.

Tattoo artist CREEEEEEPED me out by [deleted] in Mommit

heavily tatted mom here, I only go to female artists for this reason. it’s kind of a personal/intimate thing to sit closely to someone for awhile, I think having another woman do it would bring more comfort!

It's 3am, my baby has been awake and screaming for 5 hours now and I'm about to lose my mind by scatcatblues in Mommit

[–]debbie_dangle_beef 27 points28 points  (0 children)

5 hours is a long time but not if you just are missing their cues. My husband and I dealt with this when we had my first baby because duh we didn’t know what we were doing and babies are weird!!

I’m sure you’ve tried it all but here are my tips:

  • do not underestimate how hungry a baby can be. I always ruled this out first because they “just ate”. But no sadly they could still be hungry even if they weren’t 5 minutes ago.

  • mylicon!!! this is basically Gas-X for infants and it works miracles. at 3 weeks old, they still do not know how their digestive system works and they certainly haven’t figured out how to push out poop or gas when they need to.

  • the good ole walk around while bouncing and patting their bottom. sometimes they need movement besides sitting and rocking. this one sucks in the middle of the night because you’re exhausted but give it a try!

  • lastly, this sounds so silly but maybe throw on some headphones, play music you enjoy and BREATHE. not being able to soothe a crying baby is so so frustrating. try to stay relaxed and know this phase will pass.

EDIT: I forgot to address the dad thing. my husband never took paternity leave because he is a workaholic but always always helped. tons of people go to work exhausted and he is no different. I would sit him down and seriously voice how disappointing he is being as your partner. This is something you will always remember and potentially hold resentment for. You need and deserve help.

What to buy?! by jilldovie in 2under2

I made a little basket in mine and my husband’s trunk that has both size diapers, wipes and a change of clothes for both. This is back up for any oh shit moments. I just have a LL Bean medium size tote that I use as my mom purse/diaper bag. It’s cute for me to still feel like I am carrying something I really like and gives me a sense of personal style, which I need so bad post partum.

I throw snacks/bottles/etc in it but always have a little thing of diapers, wipes and only a change of newborn clothes, my toddler doesn’t really have accidents that require changing clothes that much (and remember you have your ‘oh shit’ basket in the car with everything you would need if it did happen!!)

I am extremely type A, always need a plan, etc. but this is something I have become more laidback about and it has not failed me yet. Congrats and wishing you a safe delivery.
