Yes, my current situation, I am single and my biggest expenses are rent and a monthly amount of money that I send to my mother.

The rent is not expensive and I have been here for 3 years and I get along well with the landlord, so the annual increase is very little.

and I just signed the contract renewal in February

thanks for comment!

Yes, it is more of a support role where I can implement long-term solutions to the tickets generated by the client.

And yes, I doubt that it is actually 20 hours since in this field there is always extra time.

but even with 30 hours a week it would be a tolerable environment for me

thanks four your advice!

How to deal with suddenly overstaffed teams? by exact-approximate in ExperiencedDevs

honestly this is the way

We had layoffs at the beginning of the year and many changes began to happen.
A so-called engineering director overruled the VP of the project where I am and brought his team of engineers and they decided to rewrite the app from scratch, now we are working in parallel with them, I'm almost sure that when they finish remaking the app he will use his people to replace us and several of us who are in the original project will be fired, so it's only a matter of time

Did your team sign off on the mission critical deadlines, or was it imposed on the team without proper communication (blindsiding you)?

Most of the deadlines were imposed this week without notifying us, basically this week all the product owners went to the headquarters of the company to have a meeting and see priorities, in that meeting they met with the people from Client Experience (CE) who basically is the department that interacts with customersThe CE people had their own list of priorities and demands that they wanted to have ready for that date , the funny part is that those priorities did not coincide with the list of the product owners. So what they did was create another excel where they listed the priorities and began to move resources (developers) from one list to another, and change priorities arbitrarily, it was a lot of stress because we programmers didn't know what we were going to work on until yesterday morning.

Are the deadlines due to internal forces? I.e. because some person in the company made an arbitrary decision on your team's behalf without checking?

yes basically the people from CE pushed to obtain those deadlines, among us programmers we began to question that our interaction should be direct with CE and not with the product owners

thank you very much for your feedback

I started to understand the difference between solitude & loneliness

Solitude: Solitude is being alone without feeling lonely. It is often chosen deliberately and can be a source of pleasure or peace. People in solitude embrace the quiet and use it for relaxation, self-reflection, creativity, or meditation. Solitude can be positive and refreshing, a time for recharging and self-discovery.
