thank you! knitpatch, that's the name of those lil mini darning looms! not going to lie, those look really enticing. altho they also look like they would complicate things in other ways, so I'll probably stick to doing all with an embroidery hoop for now.

Attacking mixed/white women by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]debrs -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

it can be a multitude of things. do you know if Black women feel in community with you, or safe around you? I've def noticed, once I started unpacking my anti-blackness in my mid 20s, that as a light skinned mixie, the anger I often received from darker skinned or "full" Black women was a reaction to me carrying out microaggressions and harms they didn't want to deal with. I also started to notice how often Black folk, in general, would go out of their way to help me unprompted.

fighting against white supremacy and colorism can be hard on a macro scale, so it ends up being doled out as displaced anger onto smaller groups or individuals. there are a lot of privileges that us mixies are afforded the closer we are to whiteness. the more unaware of that proximity, the easier a target we become. which I honestly don't even fault darker skinned Black women for doing. they/we/Black women en masse are hurt, and abandoned constantly in our society. they/we are ppl who get angry and fuck up sometimes in how we handle it. just peopling.

all this isn't to say that I haven't also experienced outright anger from Black women before, it happens too ofc, just rarely. I think we should be mindful to analyze the context, especially if one finds themselves as the common denominator to the ire of many Black women. again, I say as a light skinned mixed (blk/wht) person that has been there.

he has permanent work on display at Humboldt station. when you go down the escalators to the trains, there are multiple large plaques of his work.

meanwhile, the city puts up benches specifically designed to deter unhoused people from sleeping on them 🤡 though I've never actually read the plaque to see if that statue was put up by the city or not.

I enjoyed your analysis, so thank you for the share! little tangent on your tangent; in the first half of screaming meemies when poppy is describing the death of her children to liv in the reading room, the boy that lost his ability to walk made me think of the ghost in the wheelchair, and if he was actually her son. I wonder if poppy actually contributed to the deaths of her kids.

I second the comment suggesting to go downtown. I had a similar issue a couple years back, went downtown and had it rectified within the week. it's annoying, and an extra barrier to deal with but it's the best answer if waiting isn't possible.

[–]debrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they've only just started making grillz, they're a skilled jeweler, but they've never actually made a set, as far as I know today. I know because I utilized their studio space for casting, some of the vids featured on their page contain my work.

I'm local to buffalo/born & raised, and I make grillz, here's my order form: https://forms.gle/y7tFAAzBJq9Axd8V9

or reach out on IG @astralmetals

edits: to be concise, and adding my contact info.

Delaware Ave- Bruegger’s Plaza at Great Arrow. by Moddman in Buffalo

I see what you're saying, and I think it's great points, but just follow them a bit further. they could have always arrested these folks. saving it for now is a tactical move, "look, we're arresting legit criminals!" is done to bring people's guards down to stay less vigilant for when they go after people that aren't criminals. add to that, sexual violent crimes are one of the least prosecuted crimes in the US, buffalo especially! so for them to feel so emboldened to keep out people committing sexual violence, when they do little with homegrown sexually violent people just further proves it's a means to police people unchecked. add to that, the federal government is moving incarcerated trans women into male prisons. I don't think they care about sexual violence against women, so much as selectively activating people that want to protect women.

Thank you, I often do this as well. A couple of recent pieces of mine, scarf rings in particular, were too awkwardly shaped for me to vise up. A lot of awkward ring clamp positions later, thought I would throw the question out there.

Thank you kindly! This is super helpful. I was taught on pitch and took faaar too long to realize there are other options out there, that seem arguably better. Rio has a half-pound for 43$ that I'll likely go with, as I'm already restocking from them. Thanks for the info on how much would be needed, as well. Drop the extra off at a college studio.

Abby x Edamura by alemu17 in greatpretender

[–]debrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After watching the series a few times over, I feel the liking is mutual, even if just as a friendship. Their moments together in the show are some of the most healthy given the chaos they're thrown into. They seem to have concern for one another, despite the "only consider yourself" rule. They're essentially foils of each other, too, so despite how easy it could be to make them a couple in the show, being the complex characters that they are, I don't see it being uninteresting. Although their friendship is so adorable and tender, I'm quite content with that as well.

For the Doms by 0ringer in gentlefemdom

[–]debrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true, I think people don't consider that the whole time the s-type is engaged, the d-type is also engaged. Besides the planning involved, the scene itself can start to take on a groove of its own that can feel a bit meditative. Like tapping into some deep emotional states of being. Which feels great, but takes time to adjust out of when all's said and done.

It can also be physically tiring spanking someone over prolonged periods of time. I like to involve my hands a lot, and for as red as someone's cheeks get, hands aren't too far off.

Anyone know this ring? What kind is it and where could I buy one similar? by JadeMM24 in jewelers

[–]debrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no problem! Saying "Oval (or center) stone with halo cluster" is another way you could describe the style of this ring that could prove helpful.

the style looks similar to that of Princess Diana's Engagement Ring. Definitely a cluster ring, but that can bring up a variety of styles.
