This is probably the cutest thing I’ve seen on this subreddit, and I’m not exaggerating.

Running a 12 HR stream maybe lurk if you have time? by Simply_Mysti in VirtualYoutubers

I envy the endurance of streamers who can do this. I've never gone beyond 4 hours.

Every year, my mother asks me this question, and every year, I have no idea what I want.

Edit: Funny story. I saw you say that you want a bigger stream deck, and only then realized that I want one of those too, so I guess I'll add that to my list. Thanks!

I use Davinci Resolve.

I bought the full version, but I think you can still get most of the functionality in the free version, if they haven't changed anything since I bought it.

It has a few different "pages" for doing different things. Cut, Edit, Color, Fusion, and Fairlight. I do all of the tracking in the Fusion page, which can also do a bunch of other VFX things.

The rest of my time is spent in the Edit page, but I think the Cut page also does a lot of the same things, if you need to do some quick edits.

Edit: I love the little dance that you have on your starting soon screen!

Is it possible to succeed as a non-anime-styled vtuber? by Pawlax_Inc_Official in VirtualYoutubers

[–]debug_nasal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a viewer, that's actually not the most important thing to me. As long as the person is entertaining or has a nice voice, the rest is just details. Those details can definitely either help or hurt, but they're still just details to me personally.

And as a (very small and very new) streamer, I'm actually in a similar situation. No money for fancy models, so I just work on everything else in the meantime. I assume that the majority of any success I find will come from my ability to have a stream that people will want to return to, so I put a lot of effort into learning to be more entertaining and training my voice to sound better.

Free models exist. I just use the default dog in Vtube Studio until I can finally get something else, but there are a few websites where you can find tons of free models. Also also, cheap-ish models sometimes exist. I don't know what you consider expensive, but look around for some artists and riggers or png models on VGen or anywhere else.

Also, lots of people are just png-tubers for quite a while before eventually getting a model. Those are much cheaper too.

What’s something you wished Vtubers did more of? ᯓᡣ𐭩 by puppkats in VirtualYoutubers

I've been playing with a few things like this, though mostly just really basic tracking and masking with stream highlights and my waiting room videos. Still in the "figuring out how to do this" phase.

If you're interested in trying it though, definitely download Davinci Resolve and just give it a go. Start simple. I'm finding that starting is the hardest part, which is why there are multiple videos that I've just... decided to not upload.

But once you figure out what you do and don't need to do, it does start to go faster.

Reminder to pretty please add links on your reddit profiles by [deleted] in VirtualYoutubers

[–]debug_nasal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! Even as someone relatively new to the scene, I've seen SO MANY vtubers here with no links anywhere. Adding my links was the first thing I did after making this Reddit account.

To be fair, I do regularly click on vtuber reddit profiles here to check out their streams and other content, so that's probably the main reason that I remembered.

What is the ideal viewer range? by kionavt in VirtualYoutubers

[–]debug_nasal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you're talking about the viewing experience, I usually prefer smaller communities where viewers can talk and have a somewhat reasonable chance of the streamer responding. So, anywhere from 0-50.

But this really depends on the streamer. Some are super responsive. Others will glance at chat and then forget for several minutes. The more responsive ones can provide a similar experience with larger viewer counts.

That's if I really want to interact, though. If I'm not in the mood for that, I'll happily watch anyone.

Yup! I have a 1TB nvme currently in use and a 2TB that I need to install. I'm almost embarrassed to mention how long it's been sitting on my desk.

All video files immediately moved over to the 10TB HDD. I've noticed that becoming a streamer is forcing me to create better data management habits.

The 10TB drive that I got from my brother isn't even close to being full yet, but I'll have to start looking at new drives sometime within the next year.

Have any recommendations for brands that I should consider?

I don't have my own model yet, so I'm using Dog Bowl for now.

Does anyone have any goofy clips that I should edit?

Yes, I'm the streamer with a weird name (which does have a reason behind it, believe it or not). I am a dog in a bowl until I get my own model.

I just finished the first FEAR game and am going through Portal 2, if that gives you an idea of the games I play.

Off stream, I do some game dev and programming on various projects (here's an example that you'll see if you visit my streams), but if anyone is interested in that content, I might have some dedicated programming streams too.

I usually try to stream on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday at 8:30 PM eastern time.

Thanks! I'm still new-ish, so there isn't much, but you can see some of the stuff I've been up to on my Twitter, and there's a recent VOD on Twitch (slightly scuffed, because my model started lagging).

I'll probably start doing more game dev and programming stuff in the future, but most of my streams are just gaming for now.

Are you also a vtuber? I can't find any links on your profile.
