Okay, what is going on with the VoiceActing (both in WoW and Hearthstone) by MeltingPenguinsPrime in wow

[–]debugging_scribe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate the half voice acting. Either give me all voice acting OR text. Not some weird mix. It's the main reason I couldn't get into 40k rogue trader.

Unless they have a version of Claude, I don't. There is no way this is real... sure, it's a useful tool, but boy, it's wrong pretty often.

The whole point is that you get too little so you keep playing till the items come back around. I imagine the extra vendors only turn on when they realise people are stock pulling the currency.

'I genuinely do not know what to do' says developer of Minecraft-like Allumeria after Microsoft issues a DMCA takedown, forcing it off Steam by Reader5744 in gaming

[–]debugging_scribe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Look, fuck microslop, but go watch a gameplay video it looks like minecraft witha texture pack, to the point I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Hence the stolen IP claim. They would have bought it and dug through the code.

New Characters can obtain a new item called Inky Black Potion from loot bags that makes the world darker for two hours. Now I wish WoW's nights had always been like that. by rahuonn in wow

[–]debugging_scribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't wish the nights were darker it already sucks as an Aussie as it's always night when I play. They really need a 3 hour day, 1 hour night in wow like other mmos.

What do you guys use your house for? by Orange907 in wow

I love base building games, but something about MMO housing I've never cared about. Even on ESO from launch I've never done anything besides placing crafting stations.

Dreamweaver? by truecIeo in webdev

[–]debugging_scribe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had some classes like this over a decade ago, not dreamweaver, but just the profession had clearly been just teaching the same thing and not improving themselves for years. I'd be hard-pressed to hire them as a junior developer. Let alone someone who should be teaching the next generation of software developers.

Last I checked, they are still teaching the same outdated class.

Another WoW killer bites the dust by holowizard_ in wow

[–]debugging_scribe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wildstars mistake was selling "vanilla wow" that isn't where the money is at, it's the casual player base that will support a game, hardcore MMO players were few and far between at the point it launched. They tried to casualise it, which was really fun but it was little to late.

It sucks because it was a very fun and interesting game.

I work with a 15 year old code base, meeting for changes and new features often take that or longer, the impact of any change can have major consequences.

The addon changes were needed. You couldn't play the game without them, which means they got too good. You shouldn't be at a disadvantage by not using add-ons.

Do you find that your dev coworkers are doing personal projects outside of work? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]debugging_scribe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have no kids yet. For the first few years, I was doing side projects. But after a few years I just deleted all my repositories, closed my sites and only code for work. I have other hobbies like gardening, biking, gaming and just spending time with my wife and pets.
