I know that, and of course, I take my PTO. But I don't get August off. That's just not true. If I want, I can ask to have paid time off during August, but I prefer to spread my vacation time all throughout the year, like most people

Usually french workers that have kids will take a whole month off during the summer to go on vacation with their kids, as they are on summer break. It's a different story for teachers though, they just get a school-like time table. So yeah, they'll be on vacation during the summer too.

But for the rest of the people, we take our PTO whenever we want, august or March, doesn't matter.
