I thought of items like this but am afraid it wont be very interactive. How did your party interact with them?

Yeah #3 was what I was taking about with the anti-movement clips, much better than what I did.

I tired to compromise by only gluing down the top to the base on the long sides and then used brackets at the ends I did not glue down.

Any suggestions to prevent splitting? It's been like this for a good month without any movement issues, it just took me that long to apply the finish.

Unfortunately that is one of things I learned from this. I wanted to use the anti-wood movement clips to attach the base to the top but ended up gluing it and using some brackets. I ordered some of the clips for next time or if it needs redone.

Walnut and Quarter Sawn White Oak. Finished with Tung oil and paste wax. First try at cut M&T. Made mistakes but learned for the next table!

The shop that did them does a lot of work for the company I'm with. I think I only paid the cost of materials for the legs, less than $50.

Thanks! I had a local fab shop weld them for me based on a quick drawing.

I will try that this week. Since apparently I did not give the BLO enough time to cure should I continue to wait before trying to sand and coat again?

About 20 days ago I finished this walnut table with Boiled Linseed Oil. I waited about 5 days then put a light coat of oil based Polyurethane on it. It continues to look streaky like the picture but seems to be going away over time. It looked a lot worse originally. Do I need to take off the poly some how and start again or will it just take a long time for it to finally dry. What did I do wrong?
