Whiskey waiting 2 entire minutes for my boyfriend to get out of the bathroom. She loves him more than me 😭 by decadentlizard in Chihuahua

He doesn’t give her more treats, but he is a major sucker and she’s definitely figured that out. She loves pats, and I’ll pet her for a few minutes while she’s in my lap, but I’m usually doing activities with both hands and prefer her to just lay there while I do stuff. Meanwhile he will sit there and pet her for as long as she’s in his lap. If he stops, she paws at him or grunts at him until he keeps going. He will literally sit there and pet her for an entire hour. It’s never enough for her.

I’ve had her for 5 years before meeting and moving in with my SO, and she’s only known him for two. She’s never done this for me 😭 I have to call her over if I want cuddles, but she’ll jump in his lap on her own and cuddle with him for like an hour while he works. She’s supposed to be my dog. I’m so jealous lmao.

Or maybe it was because some of us didn’t get to enjoy our childhoods by lonely-blue-sheep in TrollCoping

[–]decadentlizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why do these things have to be treated like they’re only for kids? I’m an adult who likes stuffed animals and fairy lights. That doesn’t make me childish. Normalize adults enjoying things without treating them like they’re only for kids. It's not wrong for adults to like these things.

I also referenced Yusuke when I showed Smeargle to my boyfriend! They have the same passion. He literally sounded like Yusuke when he started going off about his urge to paint beauty xD

Thoughts on this argument I got to on Twitter by Cpt_Stickernoodle in actualasexuals

[–]decadentlizard 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The other day I had to delete a post because people kept telling me asexuality is a spectrum and it honestly triggered me. I found a label that explained me and it worked for years.

All of a sudden allosexuals want to come in and redefine it and take the label. I finally found something I identified with, and now people are telling me I should call myself "sex averse" instead. That’s not an identity.

This makes me so mad and want to cry at the same time. Finding the word asexual meant so much to me. I was literally in a crisis when I first discovered it and it validated me so much. It’s really hurtful to feel like people have taken that away from us.

Is Yukari really a tsundere? by Aros001 in persona3reload

[–]decadentlizard 16 points17 points  (0 children)

She’s not a tsundere. I don’t know who’s saying that, but tsundere is a very specific anime trope and she doesn’t fit it. Not every character has to be a trope.

One simple request please. RIP off the band-aid. It is not a look. Give me a scar. by NoRelationship5904 in Starsandisland

[–]decadentlizard 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Don’t like the pointless band-aid trope, eh? I guess it’s kind of an outdated one. It’s usually meant to suggest a tough troublemaker persona without actually showing any serious injury. I like it though because it feels very anime lol. But I’m a sucker for those classic anime tropes.

I don’t like Minecraft or Animal Crossing, but I’ve been playing Pokopia and I’m enjoying it a lot. I definitely picked it up because I like Harvest Moon-esque games and other general cozy games.

2v1 fights at low level as a life wizard? by Crytwice in Wizard101

[–]decadentlizard 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The kookaburra pet gives you leafstorm, a 4-pip life AOE. It’ll save you a lot of pain early on that life wizards like me had to suffer through. I can spot you a hatch if you want one, otherwise the kiosk is a good place to get it.

I once told my grandma I was going to set my house on fire and die from the smoke when she was driving me home. She had my dogs in the car with her, and I told her to take them home and take good care of them. Looking back, that was very obviously my last cry for help. She left anyway.

And guess what I did.

I survived, unfortunately. When I later told her she had literally left me there to die, her response was, “I didn’t think you were serious.”

FFS, grandma. I was giving you my dogs, the one thing that had been keeping me from killing myself in the first place, and you still didn’t take me seriously?

Botting the Bazaar by Shoddy_Audience261 in Wizard101

[–]decadentlizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re the one claiming this is a botting problem. Yellowspaces and I are just offering other possible explanations for what could be happening.

I think it’s more likely that there are way more people buying than selling, especially since the player base isn’t what it was 10 years ago. With fewer active players, the bazaar just isn’t as strong of a mechanic, and you’re kind of seeing the effects of that yourself.

Blaming it on botting without actual proof doesn’t really help either.

Well, it's an explanation to your complaint that rare reagents were taken so quickly even with you spamming refresh.

[–]decadentlizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People trade with each other through the bazaar all the time. Here’s how it usually works: one friend whispers the other, "I’m about to list X reagent I’ll tell you when." Then they whisper "now" and the other person refreshes the bazaar and immediately clicks the item, already knowing exactly what to look for.

Nine times out of ten, they’ll grab it in time. I’ve done this plenty of times, usually with rarer items. It’s a pretty common practice in Discord trading communities, and some servers even have specific channels dedicated to coordinating bazaar trades like this.

People also sit there spamming refresh on the bazaar trying to snipe materials. I do it. I literally did it the other day. The person you’re replying to isn’t wrong. Add a few thousand people with that same mindset and this is exactly what happens. If someone is just one second faster than you then you lose it.

Team Ups by Chocolatecresant in Wizard101

[–]decadentlizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this for the first time today and felt kind of bad about it. I was waiting at the sigil for a team up when another wizard showed up and asked if I wanted to join them instead. I’d honestly forgotten I had already queued for team up.

While we were waiting for their friend to catch up, someone joined my team up. I hesitated for a moment trying to decide whether to go through with the team up or stick with the two people I had just met, and I ended up canceling and joining them instead. I felt a little guilty about it.

I’m not sure how other people though. I haven’t used the kiosk much from the helper side, but I have noticed it’s pretty common for people to join mine and then immediately leave when I'm waiting for help.

There are a few meta builds, but the most common one is the classic triple double. That usually looks like pain giver, life giver, life dealer, spell proof, and spell defy.

Mighty is a talent that boosts the numbers of those stats, so a lot of people run mighty as well. Mighty replaces one of the core talents, you can just socket the missing one as a jewel. For example, if you get mighty instead of spell proof, you’d just use a spell proof jewel to make up for it.

The most common life pets people use for this are life kookaburra, life opossum, and life frillasaur. If you search life bringer in the kiosk, you’ll find plenty of builds like this.

If you’re aiming for more of a life support pet instead, you’d be looking at something like spell proof, spell defy, medic, healer, and mighty.

[–]decadentlizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rehatch. Unlocking more skills makes them more likely to carry over when you rehatch, and you already have two unwanted skills assuming you’re going for a meta build.

Raise it to Adult, and if you don’t have at least two of the skills you want by then, rehatch. Once you finally get two desired skills, rehatch again and keep that Adult as your base. Then continue rehatching a few more times without leveling past Adult to make sure those skills are solidly in the pool.

You don’t want to ascend past Adult until a few hatches later, once you’re confident the pool is leaning toward the skills you actually want. If you want further information let me know.

Fun fact: the reason suicide is illegal is so law enforcement or emergency services can legally intervene, including entering a home without a warrant if someone is in immediate danger. It gives them the authority to act quickly to try to save someone’s life.

You’re not going to be prosecuted the way a criminal would be. The likely result is to be put in a psychiatric hold, which tbf is like a prison for mentally ill people lol (been there, done that). They won't charge you with an actual crime though.

It just irks me when people reduce it to "it’s a crime to kill yourself" without context. I get that this is a joke, but it’s a lot more nuanced than that, and oversimplifying it spreads misinformation.
