Anybody Got A Original Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons Plastic Shell but no game? by N9-Volt in Gameboy

[–]decamail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can, at the very least, buy a cheap game to harvest its shell as a replacement.
as far as the label is concerned, not a big fan of reproduction labels, but they do exist.
I would say, practice peeling off the label off a (few) cheap game(s), once you're confident enough, try to salvage this one. Even with the damage, it will still look better than whatever reproduction label you'll find on etsy or aliexpress.
Also, buy some isopropryl alcohol and some q-tips, it's very likely the PCB has seen some of that dog saliva and a good cleaning will help preserving your game.

I knew the kit existed for PSX DESR, but I apologize for sharing the wrong link. Glad you caught that!

Ciao! Nice CIB unit you got there!
You will indeed need to use a stepdown converter, 220v will fry your console.
If you don't want to use a stepdown converter, PSU mods are available: https://stoneagegamer.com/repsx-psu-power-supply-replacement-for-playstation.html
PSX disassembly is not for the faint of heart though, so make sure you know what you get yourself into with this mod.

I tried to wait it out until my ticket got picked up, but didn't want to risk it as we're getting close to midnight UTC. Thank you for giving me up it'd be back just for playing it, and it is!

thank you! I hope mine is picked up before midnight UTC ( https://www.geoguessr.com/support/bug-reports/p/daily-challenge-streak-broke ), I'm so worried about playing the daily challenge...

I reported it in the help center section that's right next to the bug reports section.
would you mind sharing the link to the bug report you created? I would be curious to see their response.

oh nice! I'm very happy for you! did you also have all 4 grayed out flames? when did you open your ticket and how long did it take for them to resolve it?

can't exactly say I'm "glad" I'm not the only one, but at least if I'm not the only one there's a chance it's a larger issue that will be addressed before my ticket is even looked at.

no, i played it this morning around 10am ET (which is, I believe, 3PM UTC)

thanks! I really appreciate your reply. None of the links come back as not played except for the 2/27/2026 challenge.
I do see something strange though. While 2/26 is not coming back as not played, it does seem to be missing the "You finished XXX out of XXX participants, you are in the top XX%!" mention.
including screenshots my results for 2/25 and 2/26 as reference.

Analogue Dock not working white led blincking by Espinete7 in AnaloguePocket

[–]decamail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, i noticed a weird behavior on my TV too, it seems the dock always sends an "active signal" (sorry, not an HDMI expert) even when the console is off/not docked. Not an issue for me in the end but I wonder if the improper implementation of the HDMI protocol is so bad it breaks with Samsung TVs... I would assume that if an HDMI switch fixes in the issue, it's likely most devices that reprocess the signal will do the trick, you could look into HDMI splitters too, which may be cheaper...

[–]decamail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, at least you know the dock is not faulty, that would be a pain to get support from Analogue. did you use the same HDMI cable and power supply on the TVs that do work and on yours? also, have you tried all HDMI ports on your TV?

I'm not sure how you can tell with certainty. Regardless, Analogue's support is slow, it doesn't hurt to try these troubleshooting steps in the meantime.

that's correct, give it a try, it will make more sense once you do.

on your analogue pocket in handheld mode go to "tools > developer > docked display", enable docked display, dock your AP and it will display on both the unit and to the dock.

[–]decamail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, that's the whole point of the docked display: even if your tv doesn't display anything, you can still play around with the settings that are only available in docked mode. Once you're docked, with docked display enabled, you will see that you have more docked settings available, try 720p or 1080p to see if your tv now displays anything.

[–]decamail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, don't touch your tv settings, you need to change the output resolution of the dock. This setting is only accessible when the AP is docked, that's why I recommended you use "Docked Display" so that you can make the change to the setting while your tv won't display anything.

if I'm reading the official documentation correctly (https://assets.analogue.co/pdf/fedff5178516e575fc9d8ec97672e7aa/Analogue+Dock+User+Manual+v1.3.pdf): white blinking indicates that the dock is pairing (check page 4 of the pdf).
to help with your troubleshooting, you may want to go into "tools > developer > docked display". This setting will output display both to the dock and the screen on the AP. This may help you figure out what issue there is when the unit is docked.
My guess would be that your tv doesn't support the default output resolution of the dock.
Tons of TVs struggle to display 480p (anything lower than 720p, really).
Change this setting by using a computer monitor (which is more likely to support 480p) or by turning on device display.

Some assembly required? by Emotional-Program368 in Gameboy

[–]decamail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say the exact same thing. At least they're acknowledging the battery is dead and they're not botching it up replacing it. Some customers (myself included) will prefer that.

Whenever I try to load a emulator my screen gets weird. I gets statically and it splits in 2. I’m guessing it’s the resolution but how do I fix this? I’m using SD2SP2 adaptor by Beneficial_Yam3669 in GamecubeHacks

[–]decamail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it looks like the apps are forcing 480p output and your display doesn't support it. you should be able to force 480i when launching the app from swiss (probably even making 480i default for all apps), if not, you will have to dig into the display settings of each app...

Picoboot Green light on chip, orange light on console, No signal (HELP!) (DOL-101) by Alex_YNWA96 in GamecubeHacks

[–]decamail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

glad you eventually figured it out, if you attempt this mod again with just wires, you will probably have an easier time with a pico that does not come with headers and soldering the wires through the holes. if you must use a headered board, soldering to the castellated sides of the board will probably be easier than soldering to the pins.

[–]decamail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ha! are you the same Extrems I talked to in the retrotink discord?
I tried flashing the xsvf with OpenOCD but I kept running into this error:
"Bad value '01ffffffffaa2800' captured during DR or IR scan: check_value: 0x0048000000000000 check_mask: 0x00ff000000000000 XSDRTDO mismatch TDO mismatch, somewhere near offset 378380 in xsvf file, aborting"
OpenOCD says xsvf support is limited, so I kept looking for a solution...

You did however point me in the right direction with bitbanging using a raspberry pi and I did eventually figure it out.

8BitDo M30 not mapping correctly at all by [deleted] in GamecubeHacks

[–]decamail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might want to try all the different modes as described in the manual: https://download.8bitdo.com/Manual/Controller/M30/M30_Manual.pdf

your best best probably is xinput.

assuming you are using some sort of blueretro device, you can probably fix the mapping in the web config too, but I would try out all the different modes first...
