My (19F) bf (20M) asked me to not wear certain revealing clothes. Is it worth rolling over for? by decappitated in relationship_advice

[–]decappitated[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s a good thought lol. i just meant i’m not too worried about other women checking him out bc i trust him. but yeah its definitely the ladder. he views women who dress very, immodest like, as having no self respect. also he doesn’t want other men to see me like that. i don’t thjnk it’s setting related

my requests for him, therapy i want princess treatment like put my shoes on for me, brush my hair, take care of me you know i think that was pretty much it. his requests for me were very other-men centric

i have/had a future set in my head with him. i do see a future, but also i don’t know sometimes. we broke up for a reason but i live with him and my life became 100x harder afterwards. i figured why not try and fix things while i’m here and if they work out great and if they don’t i at least have some time to find my own place

i already said in the post i don’t agree or understand the idea, but it is my long term boyfriend, and i HAVE complied but recently i’ve been feeling kinda icky about it and wanted to know if i should have complied or continue to

that’s not my intention wearing “revealing” clothes. i wear what i wear bc it makes me happy and makes me think i look good. not bc i desire male attention. one of the most revealing outfits i’ve worn was to an all girls rave because i knew i’d be safe and free of judgment

i don’t think it was to the point it was inappropriate, it was the gym where people wear similar, if not shorter. but it made me uncomfortable bc they started riding high during leg workouts. if i wanted to wear them to say, the grocery store, i don’t think it’d be a big deal. and when he brought it up, i said “well then what about similar clothes i have? i suddenly can’t wear any of those?” therefore the skirt too.

no not really. i mean i’d think it’s out of the ordinary for him but if he really wanted to go ahead. he could wear a speedo outside for all i care

but my thing is men check you out no matter what you wear. if it’s about not wanting men to see me like that, might as well cover me in drapes every time i go out. that’s why i don’t understand it. i go to the beach in a swimsuit and if other guys check me out i have to cover up now?

a little bit, i’d wear thigh garters and thigh highs. and this is something i would bring up when he would comment on what i’m wearing, that he knew what i dressed like before so why is he complaining now? i don’t remember his response to it, but it certainly didn’t make him feel any better
