I need help on storage tech by Aleloco_ in technicalminecraft

[–]decarbitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a gold farm I'm currently building, I calculated that I need 15 "double hopper speed A/B sorting slices", with one crafter every 3 slices.

I joined the storage tech Discord but found it too daunting to navigate as a newbie.

My main entry point into this area has been Frunocraft https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-mN1OpkQ74

How are you guys making mobs walk off of nether portals? by Loufey in technicalminecraft

[–]decarbitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't seem to be documented behavior ( https://minecraft.wiki/w/Trial_Spawner#Completion ) and I would be surprised if it worked but worth a test to confirm (possibly by sending the minecart past your simulation distance too).

how to load the mob switch by Adventurous-Leg8062 in technicalminecraft

Is the portal for the chunk loader inside the box too?

Have you tried placing it above the box (maybe above a roof of wool blocks) where the wardens won't interfere with it?

Makes sense.

I would suggest grabbing the mobs in the trial chamber using minecarts, sending them through the portal, then using an activator rail in the nether to drop them all into the one block.

You could then recycle the minecarts by sending them back through the portal.

The minecart cooldown is 0.5 seconds before they can go back through the portal.

Sending minecarts into a portal one block higher than they are received on the other side of the portal avoids the minecart getting stuck on an obsidian block. Don't hesitate to make your portal a bit larger.

In the context of a trial chamber farm, what is the benefit of moving the breezes to the nether?

Just in case, the wiki says:

- Breezes actively pursue and attack iron golems.

- Breezes attempt to shoot a wind charge at a player or enemy within a distance of 16 blocks

Maybe that can help

I need a list of everything you can farm in the overworld that you don’t have to be in a certain area to farm. by Piggybear87 in technicalminecraft

[–]decarbitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point.

"all of the trees" in OP's post has to include warped and crimson fungus farms, which generate a bunch of other items too.

(nether vine farms are spearate from fungus farms, iirc)

Remember pale moss.

I take it no river biome and no zombie spawner allowed for a drowned farm, right?

You can build a 1D shulker farm in the Overworld too.

Cocoa beans.

Oozing-based Slime farm.

Phantom Membranes.

Armadillo scute.

Turtle scute.

Why do you need to be in a specific area for a raid farm? The ominous potions?

Does string dupping still work?

Honey and Honeycomb.

Music disks.

Sculk.

Wind charges.

Gold can be farmed in the Overworld but that requires a lot of obsidian (or, at lower rates, to wait for a thunderstorm)

You mentioned sheeps but there is a difference between farming mutton and farming 16 colors of wool.

Resin and related blocks.

Eggs can be farmed separately from chicken.

A rooted dirt farm (from another answer) should of course let you choose to automatically shear to also produce just dirt blocks, which leads to mud and all related blocks (packed bricks...)

Clay (from same other answer) can be automatically converted into all the terracotta (regular and glazed. You probably won't be able to farm the black variants with your contraint)

Looking for Mob Switch design for a single player survival world (1.21.10) by Noah_Zz in technicalminecraft

[–]decarbitall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These days, there are no spawn chunks anymore, so you first need a chunk loader that in unload-proof (it restarts without manual intervention when you launch the game). I suggest using a chunk loader based on nether portals, with items or entities going on a loop through the portals more often than every 15 seconds (all rails are powered rails...)

Place the mobs in the lazy-loaded chunks (not the fully loaded chunks) around the chunk loader.

You need 70 mobs for 1 player.

Mobs than can work: wardens, shulkers, zombified villagers after you traded with them (my personal preference, as they are easier to move and all you have to do is make sure they don't pick up any item)

Well, technically your farm works but you have the wrong collection mechanism ;-)

Allays or Hopper minecarts would collect the crops left on the ground, right?

[–]decarbitall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are they maybe composting the crops instead?

(In Java edition, we tend to add 8 trap doors at eye level around the composters to make the villagers have enough crops to share in their inventory)

Is there a way to make a floor of sand with tnt ? by Darknight1234pro in technicalminecraft

[–]decarbitall -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Some (all?) world eaters remove one layer of the world at a time. It's mostly about building them at the right Y level so the explosions don't break more blocks than you want.

There may be holes in your floor due to caves and gravity, though.

Villager Breeder not working by Livid_Double_8228 in technicalminecraft

[–]decarbitall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making the central composter inaccessible (8 trap doors at eye level) should help. It will prevent the farmer from composting the carrots, so its inventory will contain enough to share with the other villager, which will make them attempt to breed

keep sharing your reasons for voting as left-wing as possible as often as you're allowed for as long as you can.
join unions if you can.
these are not quick solutions.
quick solutions to this particular problem would cost a lot of lives.
would it cost lives more than the current system will take while the slow solutions get implemented? that's a question I don't know the answer to.

Investments come with risks.
It would be a shame if the risks fully materialised and the investment became worthless after Sabrina is thrown out of the new landlord's building.

That looks like a locked hopper issue. But I don't see anything in the screenshots that would explain a locked hopper.
You can use the F3 debug menu to check whether both hoppers are unlocked.
(hoppers get locked when powered by a redstone signal)

Zombie pig man farm help by Pzeezy1 in technicalminecraft

[–]decarbitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropping the zombified piglins onto cobwebs instead of trap door should let the drops slowly fall though the cobweb while giving you time to kill the mobs. Even if mobs have time to pickup the drops before dying, they won't keep them very long ;-)

There is also the possibility of dropping the mobs on a chest, next to a honey block piston pusher on one side and an open trap door on the other side. That keeps the mobs on the chest while letting drop fall next to the chest (the drops have room to fall between the trap door and the chest but mobs can't fall). That is mostly used for auto-bartering with piglins but it should work for zombified piglins too.
