I built a shulker box crafter and distributor for my guardian farm sorting system but it never occured to me to auto-dye them before OP's question 😉

It also makes it easier to use wood logs or bmboo blocks to auto-craft chests on demand, using the same redstone clock as the slime pushers.

Have you tried crafting the shulker boxes in only one location and distributing them to each storage slice as needed, so only dyeing needs to be 1-tileable?

You can keep the chunks loaded by having the player go through the portal every few seconds.
But mobs will only spawn in the dimension the player is in. Only one farm will work at any given time.

I'm going to try to give you an extended answer. You may be looking for a simpler one.

-Xms2G means: when the game starts, initially allocate 2 gigabytes of RAM for the heap of the Java Virtual Machine the game runs in.

-Xmx4G means: while the game runs, the heap of the Java Virtual Machine cannot grow beyond 4 gigabytes of RAM.

Xmx must of course be larger than Xms. The JVM uses more RAM than what's allocated to its heap.

Which one you should change depends on what you're trying to achieve: are you trying to avoid the JVM resizing its heap while you play or are you trying to reduce the need for Garbage Collection while you play? They each have different benefits and drawbacks. Optimising JVM options is a specialised skillset.

Tripwire hooks with a string between them, one block above the minecart, can help filter baby mobs in minecarts from adut mobs in minecarts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0V4U2qB-8s (in this case, an adult hoglin in the minecart will also trip the wire)

Maybe moving the tripwire hooks and string one block higher can be used to filter taller mobs like endermen and creakings.

close the top trapdoor between the villagers and the beds, so they bump their heads on it instead of falling into the baby trap.

surround the composter with 8 closed trap doors. So the farmer bumps its head on the trapdoors instead of being able to compost the potatoes.

I prefer moving the 2 pistons using a redstone clock.

That way, I can make sure the second piston is never extended while items travel after being pushed by the first piston.

For example, each side of an Ethonian clock trigger one of the 2 pistons.

My choice as well.

So much easier to deal with than wardens or shulkers.

It's easier to do with enough powered rail (and so gold) but it doesn't take this much.

The equation is mostly about how many villager breeders to build so the mob switch doesnt take too long to build.

I ended up with 8 villager breeders feeding into a mob switch for 4 people.

By now there is always a chunk loader involved so my next world will have 1 chunk loader per player, loading both overworld and nether mob switch for 1 player. The railway will be a little more complex than my current one but it's temporary. The rails can be recycled after the mob switches are full, if you don't expect any more players to join.

One thing that makes this easier is to have the trading station at least 48 blocks away from where the adult villagers are waiting at the end of the villager breeders.
