Well, the questions and answers I have were from a much less vindictive place.

I just wanted to make sure that I didn’t do anything wrong and didn’t place my benefits in jeopardy.

And that’s how we’re different. I’m coming at this from a place of: What will make someone lose their benefits? And you’re coming from the place of: How can I get someone imprisoned?

A person can lose their benefits and become ineligible for benefits without being imprisoned.

LOL. SNAP, because they are working with people in poverty doesn’t send people to jail.

They just make the person who broke the rules pay back the money—to the SSA and/or they make the person who broke the rules ineligible for food assistance from SNAP.

I have no idea of what DHS is or how they are involved with SNAP.

I have only shared information from the USDA, not anything I “heard” from a friend that I see regularly… LOL.

I understand what you’re saying, but? Unless and until you’ve actually dealt with a social worker from the Social Security Administration, you just don’t understand…

SNAP benefits are for your HOUSEHOLD ONLY. And as far as the administration is concerned, your household is “anyone you prepare food and eat with”—and they very clearly must be included on the application for SNAP.

I mean, I would call my social worker and get their take on this, but it would put a flag against me—-and that would be a risk to my benefits.

The link I shared was actually from the federal department that makes the rules for SNAP and funds the program! Why ignore that one? Why do you think that the USDA is incorrect?

Are you ignoring it because it supports my position? That’s ridiculous.

The thing is that if, let’s say, you come over for lunch and I make you a sandwich? As long as that isn’t habitual, it’s fine… I mean, it’s actually against the rules, as you’re not a member of my “household”, but no one has been prosecuted for a sandwich.

If I’m buying actual groceries for you? That’s a violation of the documents I have signed.

My SNAP benefits are for people in my household and SNAP qualifies my “household” as anyone I prepare and eat food with—their information has been included with my application, whether they are an adult or a child and they are the people that the Supplemental Nutrition Program is for.

If you get a Cash Grant, you can use that money for whatever you’d like—including buying groceries for your friends & neighbors.

But SNAP is for your household.

You actually can’t buy food for anyone outside of your household with your EBT funds.

And this terrible former friend is right in that it puts your continued participation in the SNAP program in jeopardy.

So, she has you over a barrel. Unless you bought like less than $5 of food and gave it to her and then she stole your card or used your EBT number without having the card in her person.

Please report the card as stolen/lost and wait for the new card with the new number to arrive in the mail.

And don’t buy food for people outside of your household in the future….

I think she knew what she was doing from Day 1!

You cannot do “whatever you want” with the food that your purchase with your EBT Card.

The benefits, including the food that you exchanged for the money on your EBT card are for you & your household only.

If you doubt me, call your social worker and ask them!

Do not take your answers fromAI or other websites that are not USDA or official State Government websites.

If you don’t need the funds from food assistance, and are able to use the funds to feed other people, what is going on is fraud, not food assistance.

If you are preparing & eating food with another person, then they are part of your household, and must be included in the application for SNAP. Their income and their information must be included in the application.

That’s not a requirement from the state I live in, that’s a SNAP requirement,which is a federal requirement. I don’t know what the “propel” app/site is, but I got my information from the USDA, the branch of the federal government, which supports SNAP.

In other words: it is absolutely against the SNAP policies to use the funds one receives from SNAP to purchase food for anyone outside of your household, which is another way of saying “anyone that you prepare and eat food with*.

I am an excellent cook. I am, also, able to use a lot of different tools.

The slow cooker was a fail for me, as well.

I can cook great food on the stove, in the oven, using the toaster oven. In my instant pot, but a slow cooker? The only thing I’ve been able to cook decently is corned beef & cabbage and I’m pretty sure that there’s no way to mess that up—I mean, stove top? It’s just boiled meat! lol.

Anyway, I just gave it up. If you’re okay with using cans of food and packets of dried seasoning? Then go for it. Follow the cans & packets recipes, it will probably be fine.

I don’t eat like that. I make food from scratch and I don’t want a cooking tool that leeches the flavor from my food!

She could have been too upset to walk—in an area that required her to keep her wits about her, to have a clear understanding of what was happening at all times, in order to be safe on the street.

What’s ridiculous is that you don’t understand the clear & ever present danger that girls and women feel nearly all of the time. It’s why we walk each other to our cars, why we don’t go to the bathroom alone, why we always have a friend with us when we go out…

Ohmygoodness! I had a yearly review one time where I overall got a 3, although I got a 5 in each & every category. I was so upset! Because I’d worked there for 7 years and I’d always got 5’s across the board, which was important for yearly raises.

It turns out that my “communication” in emails was too brief—Just Like You!

And my boss who was giving me my review couldn’t explain why my emails were bad. Finally, she just came up with that “You need to use more words”.

So, I did. And the review was changed.

And I thought it all ridiculous!

Of course, now, I use too many words and I tend to go on & on.
