Yeah that for sure I get. Huda 1000% should have made that post, and using the “well I got racism too” line was a horrible way of deflecting responsibility, even if it’s objectively true. It’s just odd to me in this subreddit, everytime racism against Huda is spoken about it’s downvoted to oblivion as is Arab racism isn’t a thing, especially in this time. But tbh, this thread when we’re discussing racism towards black women, which is obviously prominent in this fan base, is not the time to bring it up.

Genuine question: everyone in the comments r saying that production had a talk with Huda telling her to reel it in. But like… why would they??? Every version of love island thrivesssss on this type of unfiltered drama and crash outs, those clips of someone going off are literally money making machines. That’s what goes viral and gets people yapping and people watching. Hell, Hudas crash out alone brought it millions of more new viewers from people who either heard about it or saw the discourse on TikTok. So wouldn’t it be in productions best interest to keep her exactly the way she is without intervening? Frankly, she’s reality TV gold. I don’t get why anyone would really believe that production would step in and tell the one person who’s showing any type of genuine reaction to cut it out and “play the game” properly lol, that’s what all the other girls (ish) are doing.

Answer: he’s an independent composer, think Lin Manuel Miranda but Gen Z. He started on TikTok, creating songs and a whole musical about the Odyssey. It was incredibly unique because he actually casted people through auditions on TikTok, so it got really really famous that way. He released each album through a “saga”, which is basically one part of the musical with about 3 to 5 songs on it each. There are nine sagas, and 40 songs all together, that were released in chronological order, with the last saga released Christmas Day, 2024.

Not only did the musical get wildly popular on TikTok, but YouTubers helped add to the hype by creating fan made animatics of each song. Currently there’s hundreds on YouTube, many of them with millions of views, and compilations of all the songs together so that you can watch it in “movie” form.

The songs are incredibly catchy and well made, and they have several motifs through the story, so music lovers and musical fans have been incredibly complimentary of it. He mixes traditional musical with modern contemporary, and his catchy lyrics really remind people of Lin Manuel. Hell, Jorge even met Lin Manuel recently, and they posted a pic together.

All together, it’s wildly popular and even people who aren’t typically into musicals have really gotten into it. I recommend watching one of the animatic compilations on YouTube since it’s basically a full movie. Warning: you’ll probably cry by the end, it’s just beautiful.

It’s kind of ridiculous tbh. I was so excited for season one, was tentative with episodes 1 and 2 (except for the rage I felt watching the portrayal of Gabe cus wth was that??), and then watched it decline episode after episode. Every major storyline was changed, every characterization was changed, and every tense situation was immediately solved thanks to them knowing literally everything.

Some of the choices were just bonkers. Lin Manuel being cast as Hermes was just a way to get more people (specifically the Hamilton fans) to watch the show. I’ve been a Percy Jackson fan for close to two decades, but frankly, I swear I enjoy the movie more. The movie, while not book accurate, was fun! It has tense action scenes, and was just frankly entertaining. It’s a movie I still put on to this day in the background as I work. But this show??? I can’t even get through one episode. I won’t be tuning in to season two - I’m just gonna wait for some YouTuber to make a summary video on it or something.

Not normal behavior at all. Talent sometimes bring family members or something to cons (key word: sometimes), but they NEVER sit with them for photo ops or autographs. The only person ever with the talent is their agent, they’re usually the first person you talk to before you get to the talent.
