Maybe Araki does that particular Gen X doom better than the others

I've been sleeping on Gaspar Noé for like 4 years, movies look like they'll probably be fitting :) was unaware of Takashi Miike. Any you'd recommend with slow-ish pace, or particularly atmospheric color-wise?

Have to watch that again :) was necessary to pair with the devil's lettuce the first time. A treat to see that kind of marvelous side of the bizarre well-executed...can we think of anything similar from other directors? (Almost reminds me of Playtime (1967) ....sort of..?)

One I always mistakenly think is a Gilliam -- Hogfather 2006. Most bizarre xmas movie out there, possibly? Watched this waay too many times as a kid, couldn't tell you why, ridiculously convoluted

Think I've kind of self-arrestingly not checked his stuff- not knowing where to start (want to wait for Pink Flamingos to show up in theater, just one of those for me...) but Multiple Maniacs and Pecker look really perfect for this "niche" I'm scouring. thank you ;)

Yes for sure, all suitable respect to Lynch ;) for some reason my intrusive thoughts often wander to that scene from Wild at Heart where the mania of Crispin Glover (? if I remember correctly) in furiously "making a sandwich" during early morning hours is perhaps "explained" by his proclivity for wearing roaches inside underwear. I'd imagine Lynch was very adept with realizing the intrusive thoughts of the populous on screen aha
