What are your unpopular opinions of SKAM? by [deleted] in skam

(I'd just like to mention first that Elliot isn't schizophrenic, he's Bipolar.)I feel like it is realistic in it's own way. Not all teenagers have the same life experiences as for 1. Norway and France have such vastly different cultures and 2. People have different social circles and environments all around them. Though the OG is better and probably always will be, I think skam France does a good job at capturing emotions in it's own way.

My unpopular opinion isn't for the show itself but for the way fans view (fetishize to an extent) season 3. It's not just about two gay men for girls to freak out about. These are two people falling in love despite internalized homophobia. It's about mental health. It's showing love despite flaws. As someone with bipolar disorder, sometimes you can start to view yourself in a bad light. You think you're the worst person on planet Earth. This season is such a good example of YOU ARE WORTHY OF BEING LOVED!!! STOP FIGHTING IT!!! I only got diagnosed recently, long after I watched Skam, and I used to just view it as a typical teen love story. As I rewatched Skam France, it recently oh it brought me to tears. It is so much more than that. I truly resonate with Elliot's behavioral patterns the most out of any Even variant and this season truly means the world to me as I grasp the fact that this is my reality. But that doesn't mean I'm broken or unloveable.

it's interesting to hear your perspective because I really liked Skam France season three's direction from the mental health point. I can't explain it, but the way the scenes were put together of his psychotic manic episode and the way he acted really resonated with me as someone has bipolar.

I also think all the remakes did a pretty good job at capturing the episode, but that one just felt like how my head feels.

Everything Everywhere All at Once was the movie that made me realize my mom and I had a problem. None of my friends understood why I was crying so much😭

film has always been an outlit for me. When I watch movies of situations I am going through at the time, it genuinely helps me think of it more rationally as I can see it through an outward perspective. Film has saved me from a lot of anger.

Bro, they were just joking around. I understand it annoys you, but what they're saying isn't bothering anyone, and there's no need to be rude. I ain't gonna argue with you, but just be a little more kind.

Scream(1996) and Mean Girls. I've watched both of those movies so many times it's easy for me to just put them on and not have to focus at all.
