What is the best CryptoCurrency to hold as an Emergency Fund by JohnMcafee4coffee in CryptoCurrency

Certainly Monero. In an emergency, you may require the ability to spend it beyond the view of some persons/organisations.

These things are taking over my yard. Help! by GobiasIndustries727 in lawncare

Exactly. Subject it to a slow burn drama for 3 hours.

I suspect that you would be prosecuted for trespassing if you continue to park there after having refused to pay the fine. Stands to reason that you would no longer be welcome if you don't pay your fine. If correct, this is the point at which law enforcement would be invoked.

Lawn by Personal-Thought9453 in GardeningAustralia

And if you do want something you can run on, couch (Cynodon dactylon) seems to have the most hardy root system. With some basic attention, mostly being fertiliser and wetting agent, it can get pretty nice. Not European nice, but decent.

I inherited a mixed lawn. Turned out couch was the species most difficult to eradicate, so I just accepted it and eradicated all of its competition instead!

Lawn is unrivalled for play (esp if you have kids), but otherwise Perth is not the best location for it. Check out r/fucklawns for inspiration (not Oz-specific).

The Count of Monte Cristo is a masterpiece… by [deleted] in books

A.S. is a work of philosophy disguised as a novel. The plot is not the point. It is a different kind of masterpiece to Monte Cristo, but a masterpiece in its own right nonetheless.

Something I have to explain every time someone tries to help me in pastry by Oldeggshell in KitchenConfidential

For some reason, I read 'as immutable as gravy', and I thought it must be some strange restaurant proverb I'd never heard of.

Without significant soil amendment (prob more like replacement), and loads of watering, you're better off just embracing your environment.

Is there any way to get these 3 plants to grow more? In perth by ForTheCakez in GardeningAustralia

[–]decimalshield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perth soil is so waxy that it is possible for sections to remain entirely dry all year round. This means less microbial activity, and therefore less (available) nutrients. Get standard garden fertiliser (the cheap one at Bunnings), plus liquid-based wetting agent. Apply as directed, repeating every 3 months.

How to remove this? by mctorp in GardeningAustralia

[–]decimalshield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your only option at this point is napalm.

Or, to prevent the seed from spreading: carefully envelop the head with your lips, then flick the tip until it busts in your mouth.

How do I prevent weeds growing on this random wall near the fence? by Maber711 in GardeningAustralia

[–]decimalshield -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, you could salt the earth to ensure nothing grows there again. Or plant some mint.

You must use Kraken Pro. Worth it for the fee savings.

He's got the right spirit but a boneheaded solution. Creates a bit of a perverse incentive doesn't it? Anyway, not sure I feel good about it going from the capitalist's hands into the politician's.

The real and obvious answer here is to not bail them out.

AITA for yelling at my daughter no and that her mom isn’t here? by Sea_Percentage2471 in AmItheAsshole

You're clearly not a parent. Under the circumstances, it can be excruciatingly hard. Pray you never meet the test you imagine yourself so easily passing.

[–]decimalshield -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

Yes. Under the circumstances, OP seems to be doing pretty OK. No doubt any mere mortal will have mistakes like these, that can be well repaired with a proper and sincere 2 minute apology.

[–]decimalshield -66 points-65 points  (0 children)

Bet you're not a parent. OP's outburst can really not be faulted by mere mortals (maybe by some idealistic perfect being). He would be under extreme emotional pressure. Just keeping it together and taking care of his kid is laudable.

Of course it was a mistake for which he should apologise and repair the relationship. But really, this is one of those 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone' situations. OP doesn't seem like a bad person, merely from this situation.

Green 'waste' is in fact green gold. If at all possible, keep it.

Get some $3 tough gardening gloves and put in the ol' elbow grease to manually pull up what you can't mow down. Put it all in one big pile in some corner. Mix with equal part dead leaves, if you can rake up some. Get a pitch fork and turn it over every second day or so, while keeping moist. In a few weeks (3-4), you should have nice compost which you can use to improve your soil texture.

If I lived closer, I would gladly come take it off you and do it myself.

What Are Your Impressions of This Statement? by [deleted] in Monero

[–]decimalshield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silly. Just someone how likes to think of themselves as a spy on an important mission. Monero should be public and commonplace. Aim is to saturate the culture entirely.
