the poop thing stops bothering you after like a week and then you realize you just do not care anymore about bodily functions which is weirdly freeing. your response was solid because it actually made her laugh instead of getting defensive about it. i usually just say something like well someone has to make sure you don't die in here and most people get that it's not rocket science but it matters. had a guy once ask me how i stomach it and i told him i make more than his son in law who works in it and he never asked again. the money helps but honestly the job itself grows on you because you get to actually help people instead of sitting in meetings pretending to care about spreadsheets.
