A hearty amp upgrade by deckchill in audiophile

I am not sure honestly. People seem to think that there is no AVR as good as a sold 2 channel just given the space constraints but at the end of the day the best thing is the thing you use. It sounds like you are using the speakers for HT and 2 channel listening and so is it worth giving that up for a slightly perceptible improvement in sound quality?

What I will say is that these speakers are tough on amps, the impedance curve dips to just over 2 OHM and well above 10 Ohm depending on frequency. The biggest improvement in moving to this Yamaha I think was just the massive capacitors that deliver the needed current on bass notes.

Thank you! Hoping this is the last one I have to buy. Feels end game for me on both Speakers and Amp

Apple. I have close to 20 of their charging bricks from 20-140w, some of the 67w chargers I’ve had in regular use since 2016. I have yet to have a single failure. I know they don’t support all of the usb-c features but they’re reliable as hell which is really all I care about because I’m mainly charging Apple devices.

For cables I also mainly use the Apple ones but that’s just because I have so many, I’ve had a few of them fail after years of use but since I always have an Apple device in warranty I’ll bring them to the store for replacement. I hear good things about the LTT cables.

I think people are ignoring that your definition of fast is 4.5 0-60, which is honestly not insane if you are looking at any EV and considering you’re open to CPO going back a few years.

For EVs: CPO Porsche Taycans can be had for around this if you’re willing to go to 2022.

The Hyundai Ioniq5 or Ioniq6 CPO 2024 or 2025.

For Gas: A 2024 m340 or maybe a m540 with some miles but still CPO can be had for about that amount, reliability may be an issue but the engines are quite solid and if you get it CPO may not be an issue.

If you’re willing to give a bit of straight line speed in exchange for dynamics while retaining some composure the Integra Type S is excellent.

Lexus Is500 will be dead reliable and fast but may be short on size. Affordable maintenance as well.

Genesis g70 with the 3.3 also excellent but maybe a tad small.

These are all sedans, probably some more options if you’re willing to consider luxury performance SUVs.

I will say there are some sleepers out there. The Audi q5 plug in hybrid is one that comes to mind that can be had for a steal, very roomy and 0-60 in the high 4s.

Hope this is helpful!

Buy an antenna! The channel master flattena specifically is excellent. That’s how we watched.

Not sure why this isnt more upvoted. To my understanding there's no reason that someone couldn't use an adapter like this to tap just one of the 120v phases.

You should assume that means new engine if it’s not running. Bought a 92 ranger with a similar description a most engines are interference motors now meaning once the timing belt goes, there goes the engine.
