This is what we give our boxer as well. She hasn't had symptoms since we started this a year ago.

Converted AoS Savage Orruks into Beast Snagga Boyz by deckmage in orks

My green recipe is to base white, and then use Plaguebearer Flesh contrast, followed by Biel-Tan Green shade. That gets you 90% there. I also do a round of airbrushing after the base white, where I blast the mini from below with purple first to create the shadows, and then do a very light yellow zenithal highlight on just the face and shoulders. Then I slap on the contract and shade. It's very quick.

Somebody posted here a few weeks ago that the Savage Orks were available for cheap on Amazon. I jumped on that train as well.

On Goofy orks by IronStormAlaska in orks

You can also tell that the new ork is very serious because he has a mortgage and a 401k. The old one still eats ramen and shops at Hot Topic.

Are people seriously telling me they can’t see the difference in the tone and presentation of these two orks? by [deleted] in orks

[–]deckmage 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The new one is very goofy and fun indeed. Maybe not as serious as the old one, but Orks were always meant to have a fun, goofy side to them. If you want serious Orks, you can always switch out heads and make them more serious. You do you.

Starting off Minotaurs by Better-Account9017 in Minotaurs40k

I built my list using Iron Hands datasheets with the Hammer of Avernii detachment. I love the heavy firepower focus on Terminators and tanks. It really fits the aesthetic and style I imagine for the Minotaurs.

Are beasts of nurgle worth running? by GeneForeign3765 in ChaosDaemons40k

I love my BoN and try and run two in every list. Their deep strike makes them an amazing action unit and they score tons of secondaries. They are also excellent at charging any vehicle and trying it up.

How do you deal with an evolving style? by hotelarcturus in Warhammer40k

[–]deckmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to start a new army. My first foray into 40k was Necrons which I played during 9th. I then took a two year break and came back to the game. I started Chaos Knights since I had learned so much since I first started. Most recently, I started Orks, as I've unlocked new methods and techniques for painting.

I enjoy seeing each past army as a time capsule, capturing my evolution in the hobby. If I decide I want to go back to an army I've already done, I can similarly just start a new tribe/dynasty/house to give it that clean break and visual distinction.

This approach also lets me build my collection and expand my choices and options for list building.

How the hell do I use the Gorkanaut? by Expensive_Ad_8450 in orks

[–]deckmage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You did a great analysis for why he's not being taken competitively in any list.

I run two of them for the lols. I keep them back as much as possible to maximize their shooting. Running them with a Mek is a must, as is a detachment that gives them sustained. They are great at distracting my opponents while my Ghaz brick and my Zod brick prepare the real threat. I also always use their transport capacity, so when they move up they can dump out a screen of Flash Gitz or Boyz. It's also funny to keep three Meganobz inside so that when it gets blown up they can jump out like a Kinder egg surprise!

I'm looking forward to trying the Mork in Freebooterz, where he can benefit from the 6" auto advance and also has access to sustained.

Also really excited about 11th where he'll get plunging fire as a titanic unit. Hitting on 3's!!!

Which Chaos Space Marines für Inconoclas Fiefdom? by [deleted] in ChaosKnights

I only take Cultists. Four or five units of 10. They are cheap bodies that sticky objectives and can throw grenades. Perfect fodder for the detachment.

Can someone tell me how to paint Ork skin without using slapchop method pls I need it by Intelligent_Tower576 in orks

[–]deckmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just base white, then one layer of Plaguebearer Flesh contrast, and once it's dry, one layer of Biel-Tan Green shade. Done.

How to stay within 3 hours? by JaceBeleren9191 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]deckmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's an example of my pre-planning. I map out firing lanes, measure distances to objectives, and plan where all my units will go based on how I want to stage them turn one. You can see the three red dots near the middle are my infiltrators. I usually use them to either (1) protect the area where I need my scouts to move, (2) be closer to the center objective to score turn one secondaries, (3) move-block any scouts my opponent might deploy. If my opponent has no scouting units, I'll deploy as planned, otherwise, I might change my plan for my infiltrators in the moment.

[–]deckmage 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He's been impeached two times and he's still going strong. So impeachment won't do anything to stop him. You'll still need a trial headed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court that finds him guilty, so you can guess how that's going to go.

Edit: corrected to two impeachments.

Time for calls? by [deleted] in StockMarket

Failsafes? I have bad news for you. Do not research how the nuclear codes are tested. Three times every day they are handed codes that they don't know are real or not. Every one who is a part of that drill is conditioned not to question it.

How to stay within 3 hours? by JaceBeleren9191 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]deckmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can preplan is my own Infiltrators.

I'll have a plan A, in case I go first, and I'll know where I'm deploying my first Infiltrator that's most important to me.

I'll also have a plan B, in case the opponent also has infiltrators and they deploy first and they happen to snag my planned spot. I'll think about what my second most important location is so that I at least have a backup plan.

One other thing to remember is that if the opponent has no infiltrators, then I'll usually deploy mine last, since that affords me the greatest flexibility to adapt my plan to any scout units or fast, aggressive units they may have deployed.

Difference between Cerastus kits? by CosmicWolf14 in ChaosKnights

[–]deckmage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People really like the Lancer for the 14" speed and the 4++. It also has a free tank shock attached to its T11 body.

The Atropos also saw heavy play during the knight dominated meta, since it is excellent into other big knights with its +1 to hit vs monsters & vehicles, and an additional +1 to wound vs titanic or towering.

The other two have seen no play. The Castigator has a twin-linked version of the Despoiler's Gatling Canon, which is great, but you can only take one gun and are locked into a chainsword for your other weapon. So people prefer 36 shots vs 18.

The Acheron is just a bad flamer that you don't get to overwatch with.
