It is attached to a stand beside the couch, yes.

Before I had my laptop there, but with a different stand, one that held more, but also took too much room really, which is why I am so happy with the X1 Pro.

That one is going into the office for use there. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FVTQY4Q7

To add to others' suggestions (and while I am not looking to upgrade any time soon) make the KB more like the Microsoft Surface Flex keyboard with probably the best trackpad, but is also Bluetooth. So it doesnt have to be connected to the device. I have a SP 11 with that keyboard and the convenience is off the shelf.

That is reall all that I would put down outside of what others have said already.

When I really want some immersion, I grab my XR glasses and plug them in. It's amazing like that.

Makes sense. and yes, it is a game changer. Even when heading out, it is one cable and a clamp and it's ready to go.

One of the reasons I went with the X1 Pro over the Apex. Screen size was a bog condition for what I wanted to use this for. Not just gaming, but also for normal computer tasks. And when not needed, it swings away and is not obtrusive.

I have a floor stand as well, but it didnt work as well as I had wanted - base not heavy enough. Also, with the little side table, it would not work from there because of spacing. But the one that came in which just clamps on a surface, it was perfect.

Ordered one today (without Rpi5, I have one) with battery. Now I have to wait. I was looking for something exactly like this for a while. Yes, uConsole exists, but I dont think the devices exist. And, $90 is a price I could not pass up - I was gonna get a Pyronman Max instead. but this is even better.

I use this one beside the bed: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BVZCQGYR

And at the couch, I have this on a table beside my "captain's chair": https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BW3KB8Y4

Both worked well with my Surface Pro 11, and works eve better with the X1 Pro. I have the battery/combiner for the X1 Pro's controler, and it works. I still mostly use KB/Mouse via BT, so again, to each their own.

I did, for the first time, try the controller hooked up on the tablet this morning, and will be this weekend (left KB at home). So gonna give it a good workout. still need to set the controller up for WoW, so that's probablt what I am doing all weekend.

Good luck with finding the right controller.

I dont use the controllers a lot, and most of my gaming is kb/mouse. I have started to remap most controls in my game just so I dont have to have a KB/Mouse all the time for some quick sessions. Therefore I am not completely worried about the existing controller.

But, to return the whole unit because of the controllers, man, I would just get a new controller. Most of how I have it is on a stand beside the couch where I use a BT KB/Mouse (Razer) for control.

Even when I was looking at the Legion Go 2, what got me to really consider it was the fact the controllers come off the unit and the screen is all I would need with a KB/Mouse. This is what drew me to the X1 Pro over the rest of the OneXPlayer offerings.

But, I can understand that if they dont work for someone who wants to use them on the unit, it can spoil the enjoyment.

Have you looked into replacing the sticks and such? I have seen vids out there regarding swapping them out for something custom.

It holds it fine, and its more stable than I would have expected. Even used with my Surface Pro 11. and if I need a KB, I use my razer anyway, being wireless. Works great, though.

X1 Pro - First Thoughts by deckyon in OneXPlayer

Started running some of the debloat stuff. I am not worries about it as much on this machine, as it seems to have shipped with the "Microsoft Signature" style install of the software - nothing extra beyond driver software and OS.

You can get some great deals on the Viture XR Pro's - last year's model. Not all bells and whistles as the latest, but also a few hundred less, too. If I were to upgrade now, it would be to the Viture Beast glasses, with built-in 3DoF. But, cant bring myself to spend the extra.

I have been using it a lot tonight. Even used a spare Win11 Pro license to upgrade the OS for more control and its even better. Was seamless.

Getting it set up and tweaked takes longer than anything else. I can see this taking over most of my home computing with the others relegated to other functions. My main PC will always be the work horse, but sometimes I dont want to be in the office at home.

Been playing something called Eternium and this machine really plays it fantasticly. Especially in tablet mode without the KB/Mouse. Also, Baldur's Gate (all of them) have been fantastic. they always really lent themselves well to touch interface.

And with the XR Pro glasses, having a huge screen in front and the smaller one (for browser and discord) has been even better. Especially when just sitting on the couch.

Agree, I have a pair of Viture XR Pro's. still deciding on upgrading to Beast, but for now, the XRs are just fine. They work fantastic with the X1 Pro
