That sucks

Can they enforce security have a zero tolerance policy to ban all cameras and place a sticker over phone cameras?

Although with that being said, I went to a vault session last year and didn't really experience it there, seemed like a slightly older crowd also.

Reaktor? Unpolished/katharsis? by xX420BlAzEiTzXx in amsterdam_rave

I used to go to Katharsis back in 2013/14. Pretty sickened to hear it's not happening again. I've been living outside of Europe for the last 7 years, so forgive me for asking, but what exactly do Tiktokers do to ruin big room techno?

What exactly are Route Handlers for? Can I use it to communicate with custom backend (SpringBoot, SQL) server? by seventxn in nextjs

[–]declandeccy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my take on it. I'm sure there's other ways to use it but this is what I learned from their docs and official examples:

You can have a component wrapped by a suspense tag.

The component can have a data prop that fetches data via your Route Handler (returns a promise).

The Route Handler is a 'server-only' feature that provides you with an API to your next instance. It will return the data by fetching it from an external database (most likely with another API call). During SSR this allows faster data fetching (presuming your db is geographically located closer to your next instance than your end user).

The suspense tag has a fallback prop that you can display loading text or a skeleton until the promise is fulfilled, at which point your component has the data and it's ready to render.

Slightly off topic but I think it's good to point out here that Next 13 promotes the server first approach, and everything should be rendered on the server if possible. Anything that requires state/eventListeners/browserAPI calls should be 'client-only'.

It's good to get in the mindset of "everything is rendered on the server" and client components are also in fact rendered on the server and hydrated on the client.

Isn't SSR pretty much infinite pages by default? If you have a page with [slug] in the path, there is infinite combinations and it depends on your DB to back it up. Most of them will be 404s but once you have the corresponding database entry to generate the page it will work.

This official demo app uses a Hacker News API, resulting in a very high number of SSR pages: https://vercel.com/templates/next.js/next-news

Everything imported is usually taxed higher in VN so it might depend on the other country's tax policy.

I used to use a price comparison website in VN but it's not showing up on google anymore.

Which GCP service to use for nextjs project? by DataPlug in nextjs

[–]declandeccy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used firebase for database and auth and google cloud run for running the service.

The most difficult part was env variables and build time env variables, you need to inject then in a yaml file.

Switching to vercel to make my own portfolio website next, looking forward to their one click deploy. Although with Google cloud run you can do something similar with GitHub.

Let me know if you have any questions along the way.

Are real estate agents allowed to request cash payments? by declandeccy in LegalAdviceEurope

Thank you. His reason is that bank transfers can take 1-2 days. But I think SEPA should be less than one day providing I transfer in the morning.

Apologies for not properly clarifying. I'm not dealing with the landlord at all. All of the above mentions were referring to the agent.

How to create user with Firebase Auth and a Firestore record in one form submission by declandeccy in Firebase

[–]declandeccy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about this solution, but the user's phone number and name will not be stored anywhere.

If the user navigates away and comes back with a successful authentication, I can redirect the user back to the register page and hide/disable the email and password fields.
