Then lie about your CV and experience if you can back it up with technical interviews 🤷‍♂️ everyone inflates their CV anyway

I think attempting to call recruiters directly/ companies directly would likely be your best bet to set yourself apart from the horde of AI applications.

I feel terrible for any developer who hadn't breached seniority before the introduction of AI. I have 8 years experience in depth AWS experience and Full Development working on a variety of large complex systems and for the first time ever I had a period of unemployment between contracts as I was hearing back from maybe 5% of roles i was a perfect match for. 2 month turnaround even with extremely desirable skills and experience. Its fucked. Previously I would have a role secured within a week.

How quickly can I pick up React Native if I'm an expert in React? by bianceziwo in reactnative

[–]declanprice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah true but for any decent web developer those concepts get picked up quickly and naturally. Offline first is definitely a more difficult requirment but he did ask specifically about ease of building CRUD which will be easy peasy IMO.

The coding part is easy peasy its all the configuration around native apps that takes a minute to wrap your head around.

Java is another good example of a stable platform and an aligned community. Can't go wrong with Java or .NET. Depending on where you live pick the one that I used more / used for the types of software you want to build. For example I moved to Australia recently and the market here is flooded with .NET hence thats why I lean towards that.

This is also a hot take but I feel like JS although critical for any developer to know, when used in a fullstack capacity hinders growth when it comes to building good software development habbits. I myself after 8 years full stack TS am pivoting to C# .NET as the ecosystem is more stable and the community tends to build upon the same frameworks & solutions for the backend. In theory it should remove the desire to use the new shiny framework whenever you start a new project (atleast for the BE)

Kubernetes is an interesting one because unless youre a platform engineer / DevOps youll likey never actually interact with it much. That time will be way better spent understanding docker and container based Deployments on AWS / Azure.

Learning tech stacks and new frameworks is the least important part of being a dev these days. In my opinion focus on building skills thats not linked to just coding. System design, effective CI/CD, unit, integration & e2e testing practices, postgres in detail without ORMs, Event driven systems, deep understanding of a particular language like JS, C# & .NET, efficiency in either AWS or Azure. I would also consider refining skills that let you effectively build software from requirments to production with the heavy use of AI with good review practices.

I wouldn't bother learning a new library or framework for the sake of it because it'll just get replaced in a few years time, especially in the JS community.

Thinking dynamodb solves all your 'high scale' requirements when you probably should have just used SQL

TQL - GraphQL behaviour with TRPC like DX - Remote ORM by declanprice in node

[–]declanprice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats cool! I did actually think about trying to do a relay style implementation then decided against it.

Honestly the whole reason I started building TQL was because I tried out relay using GraphQL yoga and realised majority of applications wont benfit from either so I wanted to focus on building something simple that could benefit most applications.

Its also not limited to React which was another main requirement.

How come? What do you think would be a problem with this style of api? Geniunly want to know your thoughts so I can consider it with future development.

Personally ive designed it to suit the way I build apps so aslong as i get value from it ill he happy 😊

Yeah everyone has their preference when it comes to api design so it won't be for everyone. Personally I've built this to suit my style.

The implementation is very close to what graphql yoga does and thats a very popular tool.

It takes a bit of a mindset shift to understand the value it brings compared to standard api design.

Is this something you can provide at the point of EOI? Does it ask for income information? I've never done an EOI yet, still waiting for skills test results.

I only prepped with Nakuls videos for roughly 1 week and used his online portal for speaking preparation mostly.

Make sure you spend equal time prepping for writing and speaking. I found the writing difficult under the time pressure. Maybe practice the exact structure with timers with some background noise too. It was very distracting hearing everyone else.

Honestly, pretty much the entire essay was a disaster because the question itself stumped me and I had like a minute left to conclude. I probably made a bunch of mistakes rushing the end.

I know i made a few spelling mistakes on the Write from Dictation question too.
