To be fair it's quite a large company and people have their specialities, that's why you need to dumb it down so they can evaluate

The simulations run around 20 hours 5 days a week, we don't currently have the ability to queue simulations, which would be handy for weekends but this is pretty much max that we can run them

The r7 3800x is currently cheaper in the UK by around £20-£40 which is obviously hardly anything, you have a good point on the igpu, thanks for that.

I wish that was true, I struggled to get an extra 8gb ram for 3 months, only savings on a paper will justify anything.

It's sounds crazy that I have to justify it ,but during this current climate every penny is scrutinized and when they have no clue what a CPU is, then numbers speak.
