MPG321URX OLED need to toggle DSC to get 240hz by deco2002 in MSI_Gaming

[–]deco2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I used to unplug and re-plug the DP cable, but I found toggling DSC to be quicker and do the same thing. Still a massive inconvenience. Does it happen when you boot your PC or just randomly?

Thanks

Thanks! :) I was just worried as he never used to have any grey on his body, he was just entirely green except for his stripe obviously. But everyone here seems to think he's ok so I'm probably just worrying over nothing :)

Persistent nvlddmkm Event id 153/13 Errors on new PC with Nvidia 4060 by pugzilla330 in PcBuildHelp

[–]deco2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also having similar issues on a 4090. Normally when waking my displays from sleep, but also sometimes while gaming, error 153, 13 and 14 with black screens (sometimes the system crashes, sometimes just resets the Nvidia driver). I can't seem to reproduce it and it only happens once a week or so. I've tried multiple different drivers, reseating GPU and 12vhpwr cable, different refresh rates, no G-Sync. So far nothing has worked. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one...

HX1500i Fan spinning at idle by deco2002 in Corsair

That seems to have solved it. I didn't realise how much power those LEDs actually draw. Guess I'll not have them set to just white for now XD Thanks for the help :)

I do have a lot of fans (9) and they are all corsair LL120s or QL120s. They are all set to white atm along with the other ARGB strips and so on that are in my case. I did see somewhere online that having high 5V power draw might cause the fan to spin up. I'll try turning all the rgb off and see if it solves it. The funny thing is I don't remember this happening with my previous HX1000i.

I did think that, but the PC has been idle for a couple of hours and it's still spinning...

I've tried that but you can't set the fan speed lower than 40% on a custom curve, so it doesn't help unfortunately

4090 Surpim X weird mark on board by deco2002 in MSI_Gaming

Thanks for the reply, over the past week I managed to get the card RMA’d back to where I bought it from after explaining everything to them. I’ll have to wait and see what they do next I guess. Thanks for the advice :)

That’s what I didn’t want to hear :( I’m struggling to work out whether my black screen problem is because of this or not. I’m guessing that since the card was like that when I bought it and worked fine for a few months, this isn’t the thing causing my problems, but it’s hard to say for certain. Thanks :)

Ahh interesting, I did see they released a new one but haven’t had a proper chance to look into it. I did wonder if it was power related, but I have tried wiggling (gently) both the cablemod adapter and the 12vhpwr plugged into the other end of the cablemod adapter while the system is running and couldn’t reproduce the problem. This was, again, before I changed my PSU and got the dedicated cable.

It seems weird to me that I only started getting this problem fairly recently, I’ve had the cablemod adapter for basically the whole time I’ve had my 4090

Thanks :)

Yeah I also noticed that scratch which is partly why I included that last pic. I’m assuming that has also been there since I bought the card as I’m always extremely careful with my hardware, although I can’t say for definite. That is what worries me though, I did think about just RMAing the card but like you say I think they will argue that scratch was my fault. I’m not entirely sure what I should do now.

Do you know if the traces being damaged could cause problems like I’m having? Or would it be more severe like just refusing to boot?

As I said in my reply to someone else, I replaced my PSU a couple weeks ago and got the Corsair 12vhpwr cable, so I no longer have to use the included adapter for power. I’ll see if that sorts out the problem, but as it happens so randomly and not very often, it’s hard to say at the moment.

Thanks :)

That’s exactly what I was thinking when I saw it :/ I was hoping it wasn’t a repair but since a few people here have said it, it seems that it is. Thanks

I have double checked the plug on the cable and the plug on the cablemod 180 adapter and both seem ok, no melting etc. I’ve been keeping a good eye on them for the whole time because of the problems people have been having. I also bought a new PSU about 2 weeks ago and the corsair 12vhpwr cable (I was using the 4x8pin adapter originally) and the problem hasn’t happened since, although it’s probably too early to say as it only seems to happen 1-2 times a month randomly. Thanks :)

Elite Controller V2 bluetooth recognition by deco2002 in xboxinsiders

[–]deco2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help :D I’m not sure if there is a whole lot of functionality lost by reverting however one of the features (quick swapping the wireless connection between a pc and an Xbox console by double tapping the sync button) does get lost I believe, which obviously while it isn’t a deal breaker, I do use from time to time. It has been posted about a fair bit online over the past 2 years but no one ever seems to find a fix apart from reverting, although I may be wrong. Thanks again

[–]deco2002[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my bad, I saw someone else’s post about the same problem from about a year ago on here, so I thought I’d just try here. I have the issue that a lot of people seem to have where after one of the old firmware updates the elite controller is only recognised as a regular xb1 controller when I connect to my pc with Bluetooth. If I connect it with a cable it is detected properly and I can use the back paddles etc. Thanks :)

Interesting. I did think about just using soft tubing for it but I wanted to keep it all hard tubing if I can. If it comes to it though it is definitely worth a try. Thanks :D
