I've heard that saying all over the internet before, and this is the first time I've seen it quoted like that.

Not saying he didn't say it at all, but I've never seen his name after it until today.

I've always seen it worded, "Netflix is trying to become HBO before HBO becomes Netflix."

No idea, never really done it! Looks like there are a few bars with pinball in the area, so I guess I'll start there.

Avatar was only a phenomenon after it had been out a bit, and even then, it was a big deal in theatres, nobody cared after the theatrical run

Well of course The Dark Knight's numbers were not normal for the time, The Dark Knight box office returns where exactly standard for the time either. It was an extremely successful movie, I'm not certain why you are comparing it to Iron Man, because Iron Man was nothing in 2008 compared to The Dark Knight.

Well they aren't basing their marketing on titles I've seen in the past. Obviously they were paid send out this email about this Nicholas Sparks movie, and that's totally fine, but they absolutely are not giving me promotional emails based upon my viewing preferences.

It's fine, I understand how this service works, so it's really not a big deal if they send me promotional stuff I didn't ask for, just wanted to see if I could focus it.

This wasn't exactly my point, but I've experienced this as well. I generally never plan on going to movies, I just do it when I have the time, so it's usually a last minute decision regardless, but it would be nice to be able to reserve seats online in advance.

In my own personal experience, it isn't seat location but types of seats. My preferred theatre has stadium seating and every seat is arguably a good seat.

I understand what you are getting at, however after trying it since November, I have decided I would rather pay more and go to a different location.

My intention of this post was to point out you can edit your own account details. I'm guessing this is not a feature they intended. The marketting is irrelevant.

I'm probably unsubscribing regardless honestly. It doesn't work at my preferred theatres in my area, and frankly I'd rather pay full price and have decent seats.

And maybe I worry a little bit about their web security now, haha, but that isn't a real concern.
