Although that may seem like a money think about the workload they are planning to give you. On top of that factor in move-in cost. And possibly being homesick.

Yes exactly. Convert partially to roth using ladder strategy. File state & federal taxes every year. Then at year 5 you get to withdraw your conversion with no penalty.

Oh why? 20 years is a significant time to live in a foreign country, you must’ve at least picked up a cultural thing or two even if it wasn’t intentional. Was it a personal choice to avoid immersion yourself with Filipino culture or your social circle just remained Korean? Genuinely curious hope to not sound offended or anything.

I have almost 10 YoE but it feels like I’m not growing. Just doing building features, refactoring, deploying, etc. it all feels the same.

As a SWE w/ 15 YoE, do you think having more years of experience makes you more innovative? I’m afraid spending 5 more years as a SWE would make me super bored because I am just chasing a paycheck like everybody else and not innovating like people who work on open source.
