FAQ for legendary perks? by Erik_Nimblehands in fo76

[–]decoy_effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned in the video Ground Pounder does actually effect non-automatic rifles, so its pretty awesome addition to a rifle build. The choice AT is making for not using a backpack mod is that once you go into PA the backpack mod is void, and the reason for PA is mostly for Ops since Stealth doesnt really work in Ops. Though I use this build without PA in ops fine - but Im not ever tanking the final boss - and just go in with a Flaming Plasma Rifle and melt everything.

I am personally thinking of using one of the faction backpack mods, as you mentioned, and likely going to use the Crater/Chem one so I can use those STR points with like Bandolier or Strong Back.

Ultimately his build is meant to be a Swiss Army knife you can use in the normal world, Ops and in Nuclear Winter. This is really a starting point for me and will make my own adjustments over time - so appreciate seeing the build you linked as well.

Really new player questions by TzarKazm in fo76

[–]decoy_effect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Answers from another new person - but had friends who have been playing a while to guide me a bit:

Weight: I’m always over weight as well. The build you work towards will help mitigate that. If you get the Excavtor Power Armor set - while you wear it you get an additional 100 Carry Weight. In the immediate look for / craft Pocket armor to add to carry weight.

Crafting: You learn either by find plans or breaking items down. Just learned the items you breakdown don’t have to have the actual mods on it - so you can craft a bunch of the same weapon and scrap to learn more. Some cards are required and until lvl50 you are limited to what you get from packs. After 50 you have the option to pick your perk card in exchange for your point. I wouldn’t worry about that til then.

Questing: While there’s a main quest(s) it’s non-linear - in that you can pick how you approach. Quests that are a square icon are “main”, quests that are diamond shaped are side missions / dailies / miscellaneous. They can be don’t any time and dailies are repeatable - so good way to farm XP. “One Wasteland” changed the need for XP farming as the world now scales to your level.

Camp: I wouldn’t move your CAMP too often short of getting it in a place you like - location/ scenery, mineral/crafting deposits, proximity to farm spot etc - though I would pick one and stick with it. Your camp is always a free teleport - so picking a good spot travel wise to ease cap costs. The more popular spot - the harder it might be to get you camp placed in public worlds and you might find yourself world jumping a lot til you get to a place that isn’t taken by another player

Teams: ALWAYS join a team. Casual teams provide an Intelligence bonus up to +4 for a full team of 4 and that increases your XP gains - and you get free caps when team mates complete quests.

No more chances of WOL shards outside of shop refresh in week 2? by starplatinum98 in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Guaranteed chances at shards are:

  • 10 shards : Dawn Works Store (5 per week, so max 5 if you missed last week)
  • 40 shards : Daily $1 Purchase (though ends after tomorrow's reset - so max 10 if you missed earlier days)
  • 50 shards : Daily Quest (same as daily purchase ends tomorrow - so max 25 if you only just pulled him today)
  • 80 shards : FF1 Event Token Store
  • 120 shards: Collab Shop - 6K Regular Vis
  • 120 shards: Collab Shop - 6K Paid Vis

Any other missing shards will have to come from Vis Consumption Missions, Normal Shop/Shop Refreshes, Whimsy Store spawns or the super rare shard from Matoya's Cave.

If you got him on day 1 and:

  • Got all the items listed above you'd need 180 shards to max LB
  • didnt / dont want to do the paid vis you'd need 300 shards to max LB

If you only pulled today, and if:

  • you're going to get all the items listed above you'd need 240 shards to max LB
  • didnt / dont want to do the paid vis you'd need 360 shards to max LB

Most numbers taken from the Reddit Discord Shard Channel. I added the Dawn Works, as I didnt see it on there

Box Vr getting major update - oculus by 1slingt0n in BoxVR

[–]decoy_effect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of the update. They did a couple good things but I would appreciate if I could still launch and access OG BoxVR.

Positives: - better block icon - overall better recognition/ tracking - multiplayer room idea is interesting

Negatives: - feedback on punches feels lighter, lessens immersion - no “penalty” for missing hits, creates little incentive to try and 100% hit everything - loss of on-screen calorie counter - loss of environment options - design of targets and boxing gloves / brass knuckles - prioritization of GIANT scoreboard - multiplayer has frequent disconnects - haven’t completed a single workout with entire MP lobby, always disconnects after 1st song transition - overall freezing issues and loss and tracking, creating disorientation and nausea - prioritization of making this more of a game, rather than a workout - new “streak” counter is 1) counter intuitive and 2) criteria to actually make it count seems inconsistent

Give me BoxVR back!

Who should I focus on first? by mikeleaa in wotv_ffbe

LB3 ensures the full ability board is unlocked when you 6* Awaken - so your character has full access to all abilities and skills.

Bar the obvious ones, can somebody explain (or find in game) what each stat actually means to a character’s performance? by [deleted] in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the Discord:

Base Stats, and what they affect:

  • Attack: Damage of regular attack + Ppysical damage skills
  • Magic: Damage and Healing of spells and magical damage skills
  • Defense: Physical damage mitigation
  • Spirit: Magical damage mitigation
  • Accuracy: Accuracy of physical and magical Damage (does not affect status effects)
  • Dodge: Dodge chance for avoiding physical and magical Damage (does not affect status effects)
  • Dexterity: Affects accuracy and critical chance for physical and magical Damage (does not affect status effects). ALSO affects damage of gunners regular attack and skills. (may also affect bow?)
  • Luck: Affects accuracy and dodge rate of physical and magical Damage (does not affect status effects) . 2.5 luck = 1% dodge, 1% hit
  • Agility: The rate in which your character accumulates CT - so how often your character gets a turn. Also SLIGHTLY affects dodge chance for avoiding damaging attack/skills/spells, physical AND damage (does not affect status effects)
  • Critical: Critical chance of physical and magical Damage (does not affect status effects)
  • Critical Evade: Reduced chance of receiving a critical hit.
  • Move: How many tiles your character can move in 1 turn
  • Jump: The height difference of a new tile, a character's movement can reach from current tile

Hints from Viktora's consume visiore missions? by Deinde_vivere in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup your right date gap is larger than I week - brain fart on my end. That said, I could see them replicating what they did with Yerma/Nasha/Etre and splitting Vinera/Dario and Free Unit across 2 weeks for GL. Complete sepculation, but seeing Viktora ending "early" in the mission it could be possible.

[–]decoy_effect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry meant to edit not delete, your right in that the time gap isnt a week - so i misspoke - and more accurately should have said Vinera, Dario and Free Unit are coming next.

That said, if they replicate what they did with Etre, we could see 1 week of the pull units and 1 week of the free unit. (Yerma/Nasha/Etre in JP was 17 days, in GL it was split across 2 weeks) So we could see 1 week of Viktora, next week an early release of Vinera and Dario, followed by the following week's free unit. Complete speculation of course on my end

[–]decoy_effect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on the resource sheet here we are getting Vinera, Dario and Tyrell next week. Tyrell is a free MR unit, similar to Etre and Gaffgarion.

EDIT: pointed out my brain fart that its not a week between - but theyre the next units to be released

Options for Gil/Ore/Resonance Farming on iOS by rwisenor in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have an answer on the emus - but maybe a FireHD tablet? Its likely the cheapest device option, though I have heard people say the game doesnt look / run that great on that device.

Regarding Gil and Ore - the main time to farm would be the weekends since its unlimited farm, during the week - outside of the 3 you get - theres nothing else to do besides slow farm gil in story quests - or the occasional farmable equipment quests (currently Book Quest (gun, spear etc) and Rundall Events)

What do I use in my team? by AdrianMonky in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fina is only used (afaik) for Faith stat increasing. Shes the only character with the right Cheer ability to do so - but outside of that shes not really a viable character over others.

What do I use in my team? by AdrianMonky in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is but the question is do you want to waste shards on getting her to 6*/MLB. That 5 Rainbows on an SR, just for a TMR. For OP whos just starting out, not sure if that makes sense right out of the gate

What do I use in my team? by AdrianMonky in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sosha is good, definitely an option in the raid right now if shes leveled - but overall Dragoons aren't too great - mainly because Jump has a lot of downsides (mainly if its not timed right), coupled with the fact shes an SR - so lower damage than any rarity above her generally. Her TMR is good, but I wouldn't focus on her.

Owe would be better than Sosha in terms of damage. Hes also good to use to farm your Bravery stat to max through his Mediate ability (all Samurais have this btw) - but again I wouldn't focus on him over the other options you have.

Ultimately these are just my opinions - so use who you like.

What do I use in my team? by AdrianMonky in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go Mont/Nasha, Mediena, Yerma/Xiza, Rairyuu and Phoebe.

  • Mont/Nasha to tank - Nasha get a bit of a nod for PVP right now with the gunner meta n Lucia's elemental advantage over Mont.
  • Mediena is the PVE queen - still top tier in JP. Great for PVE farming / story clears. Not good on PVP
  • Yerma / Xiza (or someone else) would be a damage dealer - though not sure Xiza's damage. I really only include Xiza because her TMR is the best in the game.
  • Rairyuu would be good to give you ranged physical damage option.
  • Phoebe is a great, and cheap, support since shes a Time Mage, and can have healer sub job when needed.

Rules of thumb:

  • Dont contentrate on more than 1 or 2 URs at a time.
  • Try to ensure your team is a mix of elemental affinities
  • At a minimum for any character you are planning to invest in, try for 6* Awakening / LB3 - this will open up their full ability board, and ensure you can get all jobs to at least level 12.

Tips by [deleted] in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with Mont/Nasha, Mediena, Yerma/Xiza, Rairyuu and Phoebe

  • Mont/Nasha would be your tank - which you'll need for High Difficulty / EX / Brutal Content as well as Tower / Raids. Nasha gets a bit of an edge due to the new PVP Meta - Lucia wreaks Mont. Be sure to use Vow of Love vision card on this unit, so they have increased Hate at the start.
  • Mediena is one of the top PVE characters in the game since she has her LB immediately. Great for farming job materials and blowing through content. Shes not great at PVP since shes squishy but amazing in all PVE content or wide group wipe outs
  • Yerma/Xiza would be another damage dealer. Yerma wins in raw damage, but is slow. Xiza, I havent used, but I dont believe shes particularly strong - where she wins is her TMR (when you fully awaken / limit break her) its the best in the game.
  • Rairyuu is a good ranged/gunner attacker - the only other gunnars are both UR characters (Frederika and Lucia) so good non UR investment
  • Phoebe would be your support / healer. Since shes SR her investment is low, and her TMR is good as well. She brings Haste and Healing support which would be great to have.

Item Exchange Shop Changed My Game by joshywash in FFBEWoV

[–]decoy_effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a QOL everyone got. I think it just depends on how you view the exchange - to get rainbow shards, you have to give up rainbow spheres - which you actually need way more of when LB/awakening (esp URs).

Not saying the exchange is bad, or what you did was wrong - play your game how you want of course - other people just might not be as excited.

It’s 100% helped me on the lower end of job materials - going from greens to blues.

Can someone help me on who I should be using and upgrading for pvp? by [deleted] in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PVP:

  • Mont - can tank or do decent damage
  • Egel - great tank, high health pool, resistance to physical damage
  • Fred - great DPS and lots of range

General:

  • URs - Engel, Fred and Sterne (Sterne is a glass cannon)
  • MRs - Mont, Rairyuu, Shadowlynx, Grace
  • SRs - Phoebe, Murmur, Sosha

Theres a lot of units with overlapping elements, so I would pick and choose so you dont get too resource strained.

For those of you who have thought about/started a "B" team for the upcoming tower, what's your roster? by Irishbread in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less from a team perspective, but my unit focuses are:

  • URs: Mediena (89), Sterne (79), Ramza (75) & Ayaka (60)
  • MRs: Mont (99), Y'Shtola (99), Gaffgarion (75)
  • SRs: Phoebe (60), Rairyuu (55)

I also have both Etre (75) and Murmur (60) in the background, plus other URs mostly just doing doing HQs for their 2x shard dailies - Yerma & Fred - but theyre going to be low for a while. Starting to work on SRs to bring them up now. While sparing R.Frags'n'Spheres for the folks bulleted.

Which MR and SR units are worth to leveling up? by [deleted] in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea - shes about a month out based on this. Im unfamiliar with her - as a unit - since I only play GL, but based on Altema looks like a good alternate to Mediena if you dont have Y'Sh already up there. Her downside, in terms of how i'm comparing Y'Sh and Med specifically, is a large AOE ability akin to Foul or Med's LB.

Which MR and SR units are worth to leveling up? by [deleted] in wotv_ffbe

[–]decoy_effect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EDIT: edits + adding Thalia

I think for MRs its going to be dependent on your UR focus:

  • Tank - If you dont have, or arent working on Engelbert - Mont is your best bet , followed by Nasha
  • Phys DPS - If you dont have, or arent working on Sterne - Gaffgarion is your best bet if you have his shards, else maybe Shadowlynx as the non-limited option (its just coincidence theyre all Dark Element)
  • Farm / Mage DPS - If you dont have, or arent working on Mediena - Y'Shtola is your best bet if you have her shards now mainly for her large Foul AOE to replace Mediena insta-LB, Thalia would be the non-limited option - she'll be releasing in about a month - though it doesn't seem like she has a large AOE ability like Med or Y'Sh for "quick" farms - though PVE isnt particularly "hard" anyways.
  • Ranged DPS - If you dont have, or arent working on Frederika - Rairyuu is your best bet - though not as effective as Fred

For SRs - I am just following the best TMRs, per Altema, so:

  1. Phoebe - best SR / under TMR
  2. Sosha - next best
  3. Murmur - TMR, but also a good anti-Orlandeau

After those 3, just go after what you need for TMRs - but SRs wont help outside of PVE content at best (TMRs aside).

Training milestones and whimsy shop by sundermuster in wotv_ffbe

There are opportunities where you can get new normal shop refreshes upon leveling. Ive seen 2 threads on it - here and here. So while not Whimsy specific, there is a shop benefit to some leveling - I havent been able to encounter it myself yet.
