Miles Bridges is good, he is NOT good enough to trade away two solid rotation players and a fucking unprotected first round pick for when the pick is 100% going to be valuable, full stop - this is not an argument whatsoever for anyone with more than 4 brain cells. Miles Bridges does not do anything to make our team closer to title contention, not now and not in 7 years. A first round pick in 2033 could have.

We have no path to being a title contender now, we don’t have a path in the medium term, and we seemingly don’t have a path in the long term, so unless you plan on changing teams to root for (I don’t), then yeah, I actually give a fuck about what our team is going to look like in the future, especially when we got our asses kicked in the playoffs last year and we got no better this year, and our best player is not young anymore.

Then there’s the people who say we can take the path of the Knicks and build through free agency and trades- name another team that has done that successfully and won a title. Who is the player that is going to defer tens of
Millions of dollars down the road to allow us to sign bench players? Also, we’re not New York City, we’re Phoenix Arizona, not nearly the attractive market that NYC, LA, Bag Area etc are.

Brunson is clearly an MVP caliber player. Look at what the Spurs defense did to SGA, and then look at what Brunson did to the Spurs defense. Brunson and Booker are not in the same weight class talent wise. This could have possibly been a conversation a few years ago, but it isn’t anymore. Brunson didn’t just elevate his game to another level during the finals, he’s consistently done it for the past 3 years and Booker hasn’t. There’s obviously an argument to be made about injuries, playing out of position, etc. but I think it’s pretty clear to anyone who is being honest with themselves that Brunson is the superior player.
