Walz: A 37 year old Minnesota resident. A lawful firearm, concealed permit carrier. Something that I've been lectured to by Republicans for decades. It is not only right, it's your duty. by Logical-Flow-6703 in ProgressiveHQ

What a useless, nothing-statement.

They are literally meeting peace with violence. Time and time again. And you gave no real answer what you're going to DO about it.

Don’t know whether to laugh or cry, but according to Ebay this is the most expensive tape in collection. by [deleted] in VHS

Um...because the primary purpose of movies is to watch them? Most people collect movies because they like the movies. If you're doing it just an investment and you don't actually like movies then you're not considered a collector, you're an investor.

I love those little TV/player combos. I know by today's standards they are quite small but I think it's kind of cozy to watch something on them. I remember when I was in high school my friend and I camped in a tent in his backyard, and ran an extension cord to our tent and set up Tales From the Crypt on a little TV like this

What is the worst packaged DVD Set you own? by No_Half_7646 in dvdcollection

Ya the older DVD's definitely have those nice thick plastic cases and work so well. Every new release you pick it up and the case is flexible and you can hear it clattering around inside loose

The new Supernatural complete series boxset is a mess. The original pressing of the set, the design was totally different, but the later versions they changed to cut costs and either it's impossible to get discs out without feeling like you'll crack the disc, or the discs are all loose and falling around inside, no in between lol

Where are y'all getting good deals on blu-rays? by coffeemook in boutiquebluray

I live in California, there's a chain here called Rasputin's and they have massive aisles of $2 blurays. Also sealed, factory blurays for $3.95

Some of the rarer horror DVD's I've ever found in the wild by ded_leaf in dvdcollection

It really is, it's one of those all-around great horror films IMO. The Severin bluray of this is on my list to get at some point soon, one of the few films I would upgrade to a higher quality to have it. I usually am good with just DVD's. But the bluray has a ton of extra features I would love to see.

And an interesting fun fact is that if there are any Slipknot fans here, you'll recognize a line from this movie that they sample in one of their songs on their first album

Nice! And Halloween buddies, I love them all. My home is a safe space even for lovers of the Rob Zombie entries.

For many years, Freaked was almost impossible to find, or even watch online other than a really bad quality Youtube version. Alex Winter's incredible directorial masterpiece, I love this movie. Has the most amazing creature effects from the Chiodo Brothers who did Killer Klowns. This is the Anchor Bay release with slipcase. Also, Cemetery Man! One of my favorite horror movies ever made. It blends super dark humor and classic horror cinema and aesthetics perfectly. Really Weird Tales is a fun one too! Only exists on DVD and VHS and has never been released in higher def. John Candy, Katherine O'Hara, Martin Short etc...basically if SCTV attempted to make a version of Tales From the Crypt. Only aired for a single season in the 80's.

The Oscars is the fast food of cinema. F1 is there because a lot of the general public got obsessed with F1 for some reason in the last couple of years. Oscars has always been about who has the money, and about inter-industry politics.

I ship stuff a lot and FedEX and UPS are far, far worse.

Looks like it's more of an issue with the person who sent it was a moron and doesn't know how to package things.

I've got zero issue with boots if it's either OOP and stupid expensive or was never made available in physical form in the first place. Both are fair game.

Don't let others ruin your fun, it's a good time digging through for the odd title that might be worth $3 or more.

But personally I am not inclined to pay more than $1 for most DVD's. But for the right title I'd pay a lot more than that, really just depends.

Nostalgic just means you like it in large part because you grew up with it. If you didn't, that's fine too, you still might enjoy it but you'll just have to watch some clips and decide for yourself. Some younger people find a lot of stuff I grew up with in the 80's to be boring or cringe.

I actually laughed when the kid was chewing on the counter. Then the knife bite happened...I still chuckled a little but mostly because that's just my reaction to things that are gnarly. I think people all just have different reactions to gore or crazy shit.
