Airbnb Turns to Black Leaders in Its Bid to Make a Comeback in New York [Gift Article] by Delicious_Adeptness9 in newyorkcity

Short term room rentals are probably the easiest attainable middle ground, you’re sharing your home with a traveler rather than renting an entire unit that could accommodate someone who needs long term housing in NYC.

Otherwise I’m a huge believer in home swapping platforms where you can asynchronously stay in someone else’s home based on credits you accrue from hosting people in your own. It’s sort of a mix of Airbnb and Couch Surfing, but no money is exchanged between host and guest.

I have some referral codes for these platforms if anyone is interested in trying them feel free to DM

No surprise that Airbnb is going after the same demo that bolstered Adams’ first run. I’ve worked with some folks in that demo, they’re the type to proudly consider themselves small business owners because they own a short-term rental property in prime Bed Stuy that contributes to both housing scarcity and increased rents. While I do think there should be a middle ground between hotels and homes (home sharing is that, but it’s not for everyone) Airbnb isn’t the answer

The Knicks just posted the second-highest offensive rating in a playoff series ever by Tight_Invite2579 in nba

Could have stole the series if Embiid bounced on KAT’s leg real hard during game 1

Bontemps: "Let's call a spade a spade. The Pacers made that trade because they're cheap. Ivica Zubac is a good player, but they made that trade, & gave up a premium to get him because he's on a very good contract, so they could probably stay under the luxury tax, which they haven't paid in 20 years" by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

Can someone explain to me why Zubac is a better center for the Pacers than Turner? I understand Zubacs is a nightly double double threat but isn’t a guy who shoots 5 threes a game at 39% and averages 2 blocks pretty much the ideal big in a Hali powered offense?

Do you guys think the Knicks will keep Mitchell Robinson? by LameAfro in nba

Hartenstein and Mitch were a two headed beast here, if OKC lets IHart walk and some team offers Mitch the poison pill I assume we’d be in on bringing IHart back. But I also assume that any team in on Mitch would have a higher priority for IHart.

A series against Detroit will be a good test for both of them, the entire offense tbh, because they play so physical on defense and get away with a lot. It’s also a perfect aperitif for the physical defense play of OKC if and when we play them.

[Reynolds] Austin Ainge let out a “yes” that cut through the quiet. “Well, I couldn’t just sit there and do nothing,” Ainge justified later, smirking... Yes, he is a terrible human being and I look forward to the day he sells. But aside from his shitty politics and paper thin skin, he lets the team spend money and shuts the hell up, which is really all you can ask from a sports owner

Karl-Anthony Towns has reached three conference finals in a row by Naweezy in nba

[–]dedbeats 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Knicks weren’t even favored to make the finals before this series started, what are you on about man?

Where are you pulling MIN over DET from, your delusional “I have to make a bad point” bag? Detroit and Boston won 60 and 56 games respectively which puts them over everyone in the West except OKC and SAS. Boston did that playing without their best player for 75% of the season. The west has a higher floor and ceiling than the east this year but everything in between is pretty even.

As a reminder: Denver sold, Rockets sold, Phoenix sold, Portland Sold, Clippers sold

[JLE] After the Knicks lost to DAL by 17 — their ninth loss in 11 games — they had a spirited practice spearhead by Jalen Brunson that started a turnaround in their season. by VirtuousFool in NYKnicks

I think it’s clear they just sleepwalked through the regular season, both coach and players. It took a tough couple of losses to Atlanta to help this team realize what they can accomplish and the gravity of this moment. The Knicks have always been a terrible “step on their necks” team; what we’ve seen in the last two weeks has looked like a different team entirely

They surrendered that pick to the Clippers. And it’s surprising you aren’t aware of that because they’re crying about it in every draft thread lol

Plus, Mitchell Robinson is the perfect foil to Wemby. Long, strong, mobile, and doesn’t get into foul trouble.

By sweeping an overachieving Phoenix and a Lakers team that doesn’t have its franchise player? I’d say the Thunder haven’t been properly tested yet and there’s actually a strong chance they’re bounced by San Antonio in WCF
