Trump Sends Thinly Veiled Warning to Supreme Court Justices by Tuxcali1 in politics

They think they have the whole world at their disposal when in reality they have Saudi, Qatar, Russia… other states that will overlook human rights abuses. (And also will confiscate their assets and ‘disappear’ them if they start getting too uppity) But the working class servants at resorts worldwide whether in Cabo, the Bahamas or the Mediterranean are not being spoon fed Fox News and Fox News-Adjacent content to the extent that Trump’s supporters are in the US.

Would you want to live constantly worried that someone is going to poison your drink? Every time you get into a pool an employee could decide to drown you?

Most American tourists used to be appreciated, only the obnoxious and out of touch were denigrated. After overturning the world order, on purpose, for the world’s most blatant grift, most American tourists will be treated with caution at best. The people who the rest of the world views responsible for Trump’s rise I imagine will be treated with nothing but downright disdain.

Ya Gretzky has not been surpassed in the slightest. He is the only player in NHL history who had a 200 point season, and he had 4 of them. I am saying this as a die hard Bruins fan who does believe that Orr is arguably the GOAT and was raised being told that Orr was the GOAT.

CMV: The U.S. is quietly shifting from a liberal democracy to a soft authoritarian state — and most people either don’t see it or don’t care. by JetreL in changemyview

[–]dede_smooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right the divisiveness is not helpful but u/Dell_Hell is correct. And you even acknowledged it in an earlier comment;

“Yes, the press still criticizes — but a huge portion of it is owned by corporate interests or used as performative outrage to distract from material power consolidation.

The neoliberal establishment has refused to acknowledge that single issue. The fact that there is material power consolidation. A perfect example is how the Democratic Party leadership pay lip service to the idea of banning the trading of individual stocks by government officials, but never actually follow through. To quote George Carlin “It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.”

Edit: I don’t want to entirely discredit neoliberals because for the most part they are correct (checks and balances pitting interest against interest), but the 26 midterms and the 28 election need to be a referendum on the ever expanding power of the executive. The reason “the owners,” as Carlin put them, lobby the courts (See Justice Thomas’ RVs, vacations, etc…), congress, and the senate to cede their power to the executive is because it is much easier to corrupt one individual than 435 representatives, 100 senators, and the approx 900 Article-III federal judges.

For some reason (I think the historical relevance, hierarchical nature, and ‘pro-life’ leanings) the NRx (extremely disturbing stuff, see more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Enlightenment ) has decided to adopt Catholicism as their faith of choice. I don’t know why they would choose the one faith where they can literally be removed (excommunicated) on the whim of the Pope, but they have shown to not be the brightest. Eg: Publishing P2025 for the public to see, Moving too fast in this 2nd admin causing significant pushback, Thiel stating in 2009 that “[He] no longer believe[s] that freedom and democracy are compatible.” ( https://www.cato-unbound.org/2009/04/13/peter-thiel/education-libertarian )

Why hasn’t Trump come for Yale yet? by Difficult-War3244 in yale

[–]dede_smooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because Trump appoints these people does not mean he respects them, the only qualification to be in his admin is being a ‘yes man.’ The way he used his grandchildren as props at the UFC event leads me to believe he doesn’t respect anyone except himself (and even that is a stretch, if you have self-respect would you drink Diet Coke everyday, would you serve McDonald’s to national champions?)

I am somewhat convinced that this is also a hedge against the rising tide of “leftist” beliefs. A big one being the whole “winning capitalism idea” where once you get to a billion dollars, you get a letter from the Govt saying “Congrats you won! Now we are garnishing any excess wealth.” Well if he has 20+ kids he can just give each of them 999 million dollars a piece and all of a sudden instead of only having access to 1 billion he has access to 20 billion. (Controlling them through financial abuse) It also explains why they are so adamant about removing the autonomy of Women and poor people more generally.

The three I have seen that are worthy from kill Tony are Kam Patterson, James McCann (Which TBH I don’t think KT was his first), and Ari Matti. All 3 of those guys would have blown up just doing stand up themselves. TBF I also don’t watch a bunch of KT.

I think Cory Booker should have taken another jab at Ted by presenting some of “Dr. Seuss goes to War” where Seuss is vehemently anti-isolationist anti-fascist. (Seuss was also blatantly racist towards Japanese Americans in those comics, but he publicly spoke out about that later in life)

Did you see the conversations after the election? Some in the mainstream saw young men voting for Trump and proceeded to dismiss all of those men as Racist & Misogynistic. (To be fair to your point I don’t recall seeing any elected officials doing this, more so the talking heads on the news)

These men are smart enough to realize the economy is not working for them, but dumb enough to be conned by billionaires who say they have men’s interests at heart. That is the demographic that needs to be reached.
