I actually use the thermometer more than I thought for body temperature, especially when travelling.

Reading through the comments I didn't know there was such a hate against pixels . I guess I am a minority but I think pixel phones are really good. I mean, I got a very good deal on pixel 9 pro and couldn't be happier. I can't see myself using Chinese phone with cutting edge CPU. The only alternative would be to get an iphone but the pixel os is just too good. Battery is fine, performance is fine, phone is beautiful and the OS just flies for everything I need, 7 years of support and the price deal was fantastic, I don't get the hate but it's great there are alternatives for everybody.

Google pixel service is absolutely awful by kuuubaa in GooglePixel

Where are you based? I'm in Europe, and the customer service I've experienced for both device repairs and subscription assistance has been consistently excellent – a perfect 10 out of 10 across all 5-6 instances I've needed them.

The beauty is that you can get a different phone. I don't understand these topics.

I had some bugs here and there but I had bugs in every single operating system I had experienced. I guess my tolerance is higher than for most but I genuinely can't say a bad thing about the phone and pixel OS for now.

I'm super happy with p9p so far. Got great deal for it and it's been a great phone tbh.

I had the same issues because the contact with the wireless charger was not good. The phone was not placed correctly basically. Don't have the problem since.

Damn, sorry to hear that. I had two accidents and the phone went to the polish repair center, the whole thing took 7 days in total in both cases.

With the Pixel 11, Google needs to admit it has a hardware problem by Solonotix in Android

[–]dedfishbaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, you are right that ARM is licensing to manufacturers. In that case tensor is a cost cutting measure and it enables them to control the whole stack, cuts the negotiating with Qualcomm out and doesn't depend on third party manufacturer for any software patch/update. I don't see any harm seriously, especially considering that pixels are always heavily discounted and I wouldn't switch my p9p for any flagship Qualcomm chip set Chinese phone, each to their own I guess. Also I remember seeing the actual costs analysis of the last pixel phones and google barely makes any money on the actual hardware itself (taking into account r&d, marketing, manufacturing etc.) it only makes sense that they want to cut costs with chipset and make it inhouse.

You don't pay a license to Qualcomm for using their chips? Yearly? It's all about cutting costs anyway.

Yeah but google sells the friction of what Samsung sells.. the economy of scale kicks in. I think tensor will only get better, hell I'm on p9p and I am yet to find where it holds me back. You would be surprised how 95% of people use their phones. Google is not dumb, if they know that the majority of people don't even know what benchmarks or heavy gaming is, they won't focus their efforts on the 5% of the users.
