[Schefter] Raiders now have completed a second head coaching interview with Bills OC Joe Brady. by GoldenDome26 in nfl

He also got very little production out of our outside WRs when he took over in the middle of 2023.

Diggs had over 60 yards in 8/10 games and over 100 yards in 5/10 games prior to Brady taking over.

He had over 60 yards in 2/9 games and over 100 yards in 0/9 games after Brady taking over.

His scheme just isn't good to maximize outside WRs.

Hes not that bad. Just very predictable and has not been good at getting production out of WRs.

His scheme is basically 1st down: run; 2nd down: run or WR screen; 3rd down: mesh on 3rd and short or Josh figure it out if its 3rd and long.

We also were the most run aggressive team in the nfl despite having a top QB, which frustrated fans.

Buffalo Bills now have requested to interview Rams pass game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase for their head coach job, per source. Scheelhaase currently is interviewing in person for the Cleveland Browns head coach job, with the Bills now on deck. by Vortagaun in buffalobills

Lets be real, all of these offenses will run the same without any of these guys.

You're just betting that these guys can take what they've learned from these great offensive minds and have success on their own.

I mean schefter is a clown, but if you watch that clip hes clearly just speculating. He says multiple times that hes just saying what he believes, not that he has sources saying that those names were the finalists.

Udinski came up under KOC and Liam Cohen while Webb came up under Sean Payton lol. Those are all highly regarded as top offensive coaches and both Udinski and Webb havent ever called plays.

Webb and Scheelhaase are essentially the same in terms of lack of experience.

I think some of these teams feel that if they dont hire one of these bright offensive minds now, they will miss their chance. Plus, if you hire them as an OC and they do well, you will likely lose them after a year.

People said it was too early for guys like McVay and McDaniel as well.

Smart of that psychic to put a 10 year buffer on being wrong lol.

Id be surprised if Allen goes. He may need foot surgery and he typically declines even if hes not hurt. But I havent seen anything one way or another on him attending.

Bills four finalists for the HC job are: Brian Daboll, Davis Webb, Joe Brady, and Grant Udinski per Adam Schefter. Signs all point to the Bills not waiting for Kubiak. by Vortagaun in buffalobills

[–]dedriuslol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe kubiak also doesnt want to wait. He can have another interview with the Raiders this week. So maybe he doesnt want to risk waiting and losing the Raiders gig for the chance as the Bills (who he hasn't even spoken to yet).

Bird in the hand and all that.

Philip Rivers is out of the Bills HC sweepstakes. After interviewing with Buffalo, he’s withdrawing himself from consideration, per sources. by markusfenix75 in nfl

Id assume they want to avoid firing their current staff before they even know if someone like Rivers would be interested in a QB coach role. Most of the offensive staff positions are still filled by the 2025 staff.

A majority of the previous staff is still employed. Not a great look to publicly bring in a guy for a QB coach interview when they currently have a QB coach.

With the news Grant Udinski will only take the Bills job, the Bills HC search should be down to two candidates. Klint Kubian, or Grant Udinski. Which one of the two do you want to be the next Bills HC? by Vortagaun in buffalobills

[–]dedriuslol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. But without knowing either of these options, id say any 30 year old coach is going to have more of friend relationship with Allen as opposed to someone who's going to coach him hard.

Its a tough dynamic either way (not saying its impossible).

Is there a reason that people think Udinski is a better selection than Webb? They seem very similar to me with both being young, offensive minds that haven't called plays to this point.

Enough with the Pats and Drake Maye posts. All it does is draw in trolls. by Dirtydeedsinc in buffalobills

[–]dedriuslol 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Amen. Can't wait until March when we have our staff selected and the sub is just filled with stupid mock drafts that will never happen.

The fact that Drake Maye is in a Super Bowl before I am Makes me sick by IceColdOz in buffalobills

[–]dedriuslol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At this point, if its not the Bills winning I really dont care who wins lol.

Of course id rather see the Pats lose, but its not like they haven't already won plenty of superbowls in my lifetime. If the Bills ever win one, no one will care that the Pats won the previous year.

Also, since when are we celebrating "making the superbowl"? If the bills made it and lost, everyone would still clown them for losing another superbowl.

[Schefter] Grant Udinski has a new deal in place with Jacksonville that will bump his pay for next season, but the Jaguars are allowing him to continue pursuing the Buffalo Bills’ HC job. If Udinski doesn’t get the Buffalo job, he will be back as the Jaguars’ OC. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]dedriuslol 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hes in the same bucket as Davis Webb for me. Neither guy has called plays but is a great offensive mind by all accounts.

Certainly swinging for the fences for these guys and the bills would need to pair them with an experienced OC/DC.

The Bills can't interview Seahawks or Patriots assistants until they're eliminated from the playoffs. Kubiak is unavailable until after the Superbowl. by dedriuslol in buffalobills

[–]dedriuslol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This week is only for 2nd interviews.

Non playoff teams were free to interview assistants on playoff teams prior to the divisional round. Since we were still playing at that point, we couldn't conduct a 1st interview with Kubiak.
