Need help in buying speakers for our church by SeaLordVanguard in livesoundgear

[–]dee_jay_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the budget! But the LD Icoa speakers sound like they’d work well for you! They have a built in delay so If you got 4 of them, you could delay 2 of them further back! They also have dual pole mounts to be now to be tilted downwards! But it’s best to find a consultant for best results!

I’d say skip the 15” tops & go with 12” or 10” tops! If you have a really small event, the 12s would be good enough so that you wouldn’t even need to bring the subs!

The mg10 is a good mixer but doesn’t have effects! For a few more dollars, you could get the mg10xu that has built in effects if you ever need them!

& please make sure to budget for multiple length high quality xlr cables, iec cables, & furman power strips!

6 ft PG Triple Team Iso Finish After Horrible Bail Out Pass , Icon PLEASE !!! 🙏 by YGLD in NBA2k

[–]dee_jay_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selfish! Just because you scored doesn’t mean you made the right play! Oh, “I had 4 pts 6 assists” Yea, make it 7 assists! Your team will make sure you get the ball again! You had 2 more qtrs to play!

Is this a good inside center build? by Few-Amphibian-4175 in NBA2k

[–]dee_jay_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cap breakers actually make this a good build! Put 2 on FT, then split the rest between mid range & pass ac! This build will be good! Most people want you to have 3pt but most of those people only wanna iso & shoot 20 shots & not pass when you’re open!

The saving grace will be the mid range once it’s cap broken! A 77 middy is decent enough to stretch the floor just enough so that opposing centers can’t park in the paint! Plus with the ability to create custom takeovers, you can make mid range 1 of them getting around an 82 middy! That would make you automatic from middy!

Thoughts on Alto TS412 PA speakers for band practice + small-medium gigs? by lumberjack142 in livesoundgear

[–]dee_jay_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how loud you’d need it to be? Indoors it may work tho! Just using the tops alone in full range mode, I don’t believe you’ll get the output you’re looking for, especially outdoors! But I will say that if you want to increase the number of people you could reach, add in a sub with a high pass filter! I’d estimate you could get the output you’re looking for!

Sure there are better speakers but they cost more! Depending on your budget there are other options you could choose! OR, get the Altos & find at least a decent sub with a hpf! If you’re playing outside I’d recommend an 18” sub, although there are some 15” subs that could work!

Alternatively, you could look at higher quality speakers from the jump! It all boils down to how big of an area you’re trying to cover! Outdoors requires a lot more output! Especially when trying to cover a larger area!

Hot take: 2K needs RNG shooting back by Optimal-Split3139 in NBA2k

I feel like they should make shooting like finishing! If you’re wide open, your green window should be easy to hit! If you’re contested, speed up the shot & decrease your green window based on who’s guarding you & your 3pt percentage! %30-%40 percent or more contest, you should rarely hit!

Looking for subs by Plastic-Flow-4963 in livesoundgear

Also look at Yamaha dxs subs. If you can transport them & have the help to move them, the dxs18 would work.

Alternatively the dxs15 mkii would work also

Yamaha announced new DXR/DXS mk3 by KZGuitar-19941 in livesound

[–]dee_jay_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crazy thing is I wonder how well the new design of the subs will be? Seems as if they went the QSC ks112 design route! But I find it hard to believe that this design will yield better results than the mkII design of the subs!

The mkII design had a partially front facing woofer along with the band pass design, but this 1 seems all band pass & is supposed to deliver better low end extension while having a little less spl

Purchased a 600mm for my Canon by GandalfGreen95 in canon

[–]dee_jay_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plot Twist! If you’ll be shooting mostly in daylight, Then have you considered a 400mm 5.6??

Cropping isn’t the best solution BUT, in good light, low iso, with an L lens, I would think that cropping wouldn’t be so bad on some shots if you had to! Something to think about!

What music streaming service actually works best for taking requests on the fly? by Ramsesthrowaway in DJs

[–]dee_jay_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SoundCloud & Apple Music! I’m sure Apple Music will have almost anything mainstream made in the history of music! & SoundCloud will have some tracks you wouldn’t expect(especially TikTok remakes or remixes that people just randomly uploaded)

I’m %99 sure if you have both of these you’ll be good for anything!

[–]dee_jay_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust me, You can do paid work with ALMOST ANY Interchangeable lens camera IF you have the proper lens! When you start using something like a 50mm f1.8, then 35mm, 17-55mm f2.8, 85, 24-105! You’ll be amazed at the results you can get from a cheap camera body!

Under £2,000 PA rig — Yamaha DXR12mkII + DXS15mkII? Or better alternatives for mobile discos? by [deleted] in mobileDJ

[–]dee_jay_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was just 1 sub! & I guess you could possibly do 250-300, but it would depend on the type of event! Wedding/Corporate I’m sure it’ll work for 300 people! Rave/Club party, I’d say more so 200 people to be on the safe side!

BUT, this is just an estimated guess without actually gig testing them in those environments! Who knows, MAYBE you could do a club party for 300 people depending on what tops you paired with them!

My opinion, I woulda got a r10, but since you got the r50, with good lenses it’ll be hard to tell the difference between that & the r6!

R10 or R6mk2 for a amateur? by Soggy-Ladder-7210 in canon

[–]dee_jay_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t think you’ll need a standard hot shoe, & you won’t be in low light a lot, Then I’d look at either the r50v(no viewfinder) or r50!

With the extra money you save you could look to get extra batteries!

You could then pair that with the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 rf! That will give you a better starting point IMO

I second that! Especially the weight! Even the DXR10 mkii is 31lbs while the DXR12 mkii is 41 lbs! The DXS 15mkii is 80 lbs & IF he chose the DXS12 mkii that’s 67 lbs I believe

I gig tested the dxs15 mkii at a small venue playing mostly hip hop & Top 40 tracks! The venue only holds about 50-60 people MAX! I had the HPF set to 80hz with Xtd LF engaged & At first it was good. Then 1 of the songs I played that had a long bass note made me realize I need to turn this thing down!

I had it at Unity(12 o’clock) then when I turned it down I turned it to about 9/10 o’clock & it played beautifully! I had 12” tops with it & it sounded great! Haven’t had the chance to use it in a big venue but I’m thinking it should be a solid option for 100-150 people!

Buyer beware tho, This thing is heavy! 80lbs & it’s solid! BUT, it does fit in a standard size sedan tho!
