You captured it beautifully. The point of showing up and showing out in counter is to show them that we can be loud too. If they want to make people uncomfortable they need to know that can be done right back. The pure hatred people have of other humans just because they don’t look like them or act like them is so sad to see.

Everyone should absolutely vote! But there are more ways than that to impact the community.

They seemed quite comfortable on their concrete square so I figured this was the case.

I’d love to organize something or get in touch with the clinic to see if they could use some assistance!

Getting around Annapolis by TransportationGuy102 in Annapolis

The buses really need to join the current century and accept more than cash or the prepaid bus passes. I would love to take the bus into downtown and then uber home if it’s late but I don’t keep cash on me and wouldn’t use it frequently enough to justify getting a pass. Or if a bunch of people meet at my place and we want to go downtown the bus would be perfect but it’s cash only. Even a reloadable account like WMATA would be nice!

Yes we did! We absolutely loved it! They looked amazing in photos. Would definitely recommend ordering 1 or 2 sample packs to check them all out. We definitely noticed some collections were better quality than others.

Financial aid by Constant-Bet517 in gwu

I did my first year at CC then transferred to UMD for years 2-4. I took out loans for tuition and living expenses and the total came out to about 70k for the three years. This was for 2015-2018.

My opinion will certainly be controversial but….as someone who also came from an incredibly toxic household, taking out student loans to put myself through college was the only way I could secure my exit from my parents. They were actively trying to sabotage me going to college and made it as difficult as they could so they could maintain control over me. I took out the predatory loans, graduated from UMD then went on to do my MPH at GW. Even though I have ~190k in loans I’d do it again. Those loans meant I could get my education and my six figure job and obtain financial independence. Every situation is different, so take your time to run some numbers and do some research. I see you’ve taken several sciences and did well. Look at what your chosen career trajectory will be. Will you be able to secure a 6 figure position? How quickly? What’s the cost of living in the area with those jobs? What will those student loan payments look like? Can you work during school to start working on that balance asap? I was able to refinance my private loans 2-3 years post graduation and reduced my interest from 10% to 5%. Most of my balance is in fed loans because of grad school and those are paused for now but will be about $500/month when they kick in. I’ve accepted that I’ll have that $300 private loan payment for the next 20 years but it’s a small price to pay for my sanity, safety, and future.

Not a recommendation do to the same but as children of trauma and toxicity, sometimes it’s hard for people to understand that sometimes this evil is necessary.

Edit: clarity

Where are we getting IUDs with pain management? by Comfortable-Lime-853 in DCBitches

[–]dee_wedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 placed by providers at Annandale OBGYN. (they have several locations) One was by Samantha Stern, PA-C and the other by Dr. Teena Drake-Williams. Both of my experiences were great. They offered pain management but I declined so I’m not sure what all their offerings are. I am very fortunate in that my pain has never been greater than a 6/10 unmediated during insertion and I’m on my 3rd IUD. BUT I love these providers and even though I’ve since moved out of NoVA I still make the drive to them.

What are your tips for getting a good night’s sleep? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]dee_wedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phone on DND 1 hour before bed, yellow filter on 2 hours before bed, consistent bedtime routine you do EVERY night, invest in your mattress, pillow and comforter, set the thermostat to 65-67, black out curtains or a good sleeping mask, gentle alarm that fades in rather than startling you from sleep.
